I. Introduction

Hello and thanks for looking at this guide. This is a guide for those of you who are confused or don't know how to protect yourselves. This is a guide written by me and contains how to portect yourself from viruses and what to do if you have one. It also contains a list of Anti-Viruses for you to download (Pro Versions). The top one is the recommeded one to get. So, enjoy.

II. Suspicious File?

So you've seen a file that looks suspicious on a site that looks really fake? Its easy to figure out if its *actually* a virus. Just download it (IT WON'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS YOU OPEN IT) Many people think if you download it will insta-rape your computer, but its completely safe for the meantime.

Okay, so if you don't want to get a anti-virus for the time being (I suggest you do sooner or later) You can go to two sites to scan a downloaded file for viruses. The first, which I believe is the best, is www.jotti.virusscan.org. Here is a simple guide on how to use:


1. Go to the website www.jotti.virusscan.org


2. Click 'Browse', find your file and click 'Open'


3. Wait for the virus scan to finish and you should have your results! (Oh looky, no virus! )

The other site (If jotti is busy) is www.virustotal.com, It is basic enough and should be easy to figure out

III. Downloaded a virus?

If you have downloaded a virus, make sure that it is because you may miss out on something you want! Either scan with jotti or scan with an anti-virus located in the 'Anti-Virus List' Section. REMEMBER: Viruses will not affect your system unless you open them when they are downloaded by you. The key is, if you suspect a suspicious file, scan it and if its a virus delete it.

Good guide, however remove the warez, maybe put in the best ones you buy and the best ones you can get without paying?

I highly reccommend NOT gettinb Norton, it seriously sucks ass, uses alot of RAM and slows down your computer like shit, if you can afford, get something like NOD32 .

Other than that. This guide is very basic. Try and expand on the topic a bit more next time. I like the layout which is a rarity for me it seems. I like your use of color also. The pictures also bring it together a bit more. Overall a pretty good guide.
