Webpage layout

I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, if it's not a mod please move it to the appropriate section.

This is the first web page layout I've ever made. I created, sliced, etc. this layout myself. It's my first so it's not the greatest, but I don't think it's too bad for being my first.

Please rate/hate & tell me how to improve.

I don't really like it, first if doesn't even take up my screen , but the navigation buttons are to big and the green doesn't really suit.

It doesn;t take up my full screen either, because I made it 1024X768 which is the default resolution on most monitors, which means more than likely more people will have it as a resolution.

I know they are rather large, I forgot I was making it zoomed out at 66.7% so everything turned out larger than I intended.

Yeah. I haven't really ever been a fan of the Bevel and Emboss tool, but it seemed suitable for this.

Now that you say that, yeah, I agree. It doesn't fit well. I will try out some other colors.

The header is just one I had from like a year ago, and I just slapped it up there to fill space until I decide to make another one.

The coding can really be revised some. The images that you've spliced at the top can be better, there are too many pieces. You might want to explore a bit more when building a layout. A good way to build better layouts is to take a look around and draw some inspiration; Get that "feel" and imagine it before doing the design.

Overall, it needs improvement but it certainly isn't bad for your first layout. A website should be appealing to the audience.
