    Banning Jagex from my website

Hey, im not sure if this is the right forum, so move it if its wrong..

Im running a RS2 forum and I was thinking about banning Jagex from the site. Any tips how I should do this and what IPs Jagex computers have? Ive heard that Sythe has done this.

    Thanks.

You can't really stop them if your talking abot phishing i suggest you don't if you are talking about a normal forum such as this then just put a disclaimer on your first page saying please leave if your jagex staff all that stuff.

^ Disclaimers are not enough. Just because your front page says "If you are Jagex you can't enter", doesn't mean Jagex has to listen.

To be honest, you don't need to worry about Jagex. They only visit forums that really affect them (no offense) and even then don't do much.

If you're still paranoid, you could place a ban on "64.79.147.*", although placing a ban on an entire IP range is never a good idea if you have a global audience.

And keep in mind... Jagex workers still have computers with internet access at home. Just because they cannot access your site "at work" does not mean they are blocked out from your site at all.

    Jagex doesn't care.

I've owned a Private Server for over a year now, and have been accepting memberships for 6 months (about). Made about $600 last month, and have never even gotten contacted by Jagex. I even use some of their images on my website.

So to say that Jagex would sue or even shut down your website is obscene. They would only do it if you had a 500+ webclient on your website (runescape's new graphics).
