Mainstream band? lol. The common mainstream band sings about something that doesn't matter or the lyrics just say random shit. Rage actually gives a message and as you can see in their music videos and hear in their lyrics that they try to send a message to the government that they're doing something wrong. Mainstream bands don't try to sing about something that actually matters in life, they just sing about whatever. Maybe you should listen to the band and actually listen to the lyrics before criticizing a band.

Rage Against the Machine is not this definition. The most common or generally accepted ideas are not to go against the government, the most common or general belief is that there isn't much corruption in the government. So yes I know the definition of mainstream and no Rage Against the Machine is not mainstream. Just because they sound like rap doesn't automatically make them mainstream, and please tell me what is so bad and evil about mainstream?

Rage Against the Machine does not give subliminal messages to cut yourself either, that's more of the emo/screamo bands. Rage Against the Machine is a sort of Rap Metal type of band.

As what you say about the New World Order; well the new world order is believed to be government conspiracy that some nation's government wants to make world peace and some believe this government will take over the world. This band speaks out against the government, so no they do not support new world order.

Why would I need to know music theory to prove to you that Rage Against the Machine is not mainstream? I know that Rage Against the Machine is not mainstream like you said they were and calling me a retard about the whole situation isn't really the nicest way to argue against my points of view about the band. Anyways, this whole argument is unnecessary because the thread asks what is your favorite song by the band and if you're going to talk crap about the band then this is not your thread.

Also, I have seen most of your posts and you just talk crap about the music that people listen to. Here's a good idea, why don't you start your own thread about the music you like and see if anyone else agrees with you instead of making enemies with everyone else for listening to a different type of music or having a different opinion on music than you.
