Vouches Don't Mean Shit Anymore.

Honestly, What percentage of people on Sythe do you think are scammers?
TBH I think about 75% of them are. And when 75% of them are how are you supposed to determine who is actually staying legit until he has become "highly trusted" and then using his "highly trusted reputation" to scam for a big pay-out. I have been scammed 3 times today. Once, a level 98 with 99 fishing and cooking. Another, for 3 pins. And Another, for a pure ranger. It has gotten quite annoying actually. Because using these so-called, "vouches", isn't working anymore can't anyone see that?

 

It's a fair point; but, vouches help in an odd way.

I probably ban more people for self-vouching than anything. On most scam reports, all I have to do is check the user's profile, and check the IP's of the people they've supposedly traded with. For what little rep it gives them (as they almost always use leechers with a couple posts), it's a huge help.

Vouches also provide helpful records of trades. I sometimes use them to check if an account for sale has been purchased before, or to trace people who've been helping known scammers.

Still, for all their shortcomings, vouches are probably better than nothing; without them, people look at post count, and that's just as misleading. At least from trusted users, vouches have meaning.

I do, however, think we need more restrictions: ie, no more vouching for RS names or free training.

How am I a dumb-ass? The vouching system was put in place to show members who can be trusted with vital information and who can't. So far all it has done is get me scammed, not once, twice, but three times.

So put that in your pipe and smoke it!
