A few ways i think would stop scaming/hacking

    Welcome

A few ways i think would stop hackers/scammers on sythe

1.Make them enter a valid mobile or home phone number

2.Make them enter a valid address

3.Make them have to verify there E-Mail

All of these ideas are simple but effective i think it would help reduce the amount of scammers on sythe

Please post what you think of my ideas and any ideas you have i'll add to the thread

    Thanks Josh:cool:

    1. This is a cheating site, that is somewhat illigal, and you're saying that EVERY member must submit that information? That's highly dangerous, and would put people at risk.

    2. ^

    3. Email is verified upon making an account.

Please think it the idea out completely before posting, this is far-fetched.

This could be applied to a registration form to be Verified etc. but upon registration, thats ridiculous.

There will always be an amount of scammers ... no matter what you do .
Anyway why would you need a phone number and an address for ?
Calling the police for a game ... ?
Maybe you could ask sythe to track them down using the ip logs .
    But that only if you got scammed of money and large sums ... not 2 - 3 dollars ... like 25 , 50 , 75 + dollars ...

But what i recomend is to be careful ... read an anti-scam guide ... and don't go first except with highly trusted members ... always check all the trades your trader made before trading with him ... and you won't be scamed ... better to wait till someone goes first than to lose your stuff ...

What risk? Ebay does the same thing. If you trade you should have to submit this info to become verified.

    I agree.
It seems like a good idea.
This would definitely reduce the number of users with malicious/ill intent, but it could hinder good members. In the long run, I think it would reduce scammers by A LOT.

With database leaks this site has had in the past I would never want to enter my personal info on it.

Lol, nothing we do on this site is íllegal'. Breaking Jagex's TOS is not against the law.

Why should i enter in all my personal information?

Hell, lets add SS numbers, and credit card information to!

I think this is a very good idea. This would reduce scammers and help make the forums a more secure and safe place to trade.

Don't be stupid. You only need to be 13 to join this site, and they can't get credit cards. >_>

    1. Create a new, free, e-mail address.
    2. Make up an address.
    3. Give them your moblie phone.

If staff members really want to call every one of the thousands of Sythe members and verify there account then this method will work...

No. I would not give my address or phone number to Sythe when the database has been hacked in the past.
