Go to a barber shop, tell them you want a pro mohawk.

They will most likley tell you how to make, and maintain it.

instead of straightening your hair, you can also just try a straightening shampoo and conditioner. I use Bedhead shampoo and conditioner. They go for around 25-30 bucks each bottle and work amazing:) pretty cheap too.

Fin, how much you spend on a haircut at average? I spend around $150-$200 but that also includes getting my highlights done every so often.

I used to have my hair dyed frequently, but I don't like the effects it has on the quality of your hair, so I stopped a year ago. Taking into account that I don't have it dyed anymore, generally around £50.00 - £60.00.

Not at all, you're doing the right thing. In fact, if it's as bad as you've said, you could actually shampoo it once every three days, and condition, like you are, every day.

Garnier is vile and cheap. Try the John Frieda collection - it works wonders for me.

Just because your hair is short/medium does not mean you cannot use straighteners. My hair is medium length, and I use full size straighteners, and even if they were too big, you could use the smaller (and cheaper) straighteners that are designed for shorter hair. I recommend GHD 'mini':

Lol just to interject a conflictary note to 'nice hair'.

Shampoos contain chemicals which WILL damage your hair in the long run.
Straighteners effectively break the irregular bonding in your via flooding with heat energy THUS DAMAGING YOUR HAIR!

For healthy hair.. don't striaghten , don't shampoo , JUST WASH!

Sure you'll stink for a while and people will notice but for real healthy hair your natural oil resevoir willl build and blossom in your hair cleaning your hair in a natural way.

    agreed, for the most part.

Some of the guide is wrong for my hair type though (I shampoo every other day, generally, unless I am particularly dirty or sweaty, and I condition daily)

I've used John Frieda products, and I can speak for their quality.

I like to switch up my shampoo/conditioner every time I buy more though (once every month or so generally) - I'm on a quest to find the ultimate :)

Currently I'm using a Tigi product. I enjoy it so far.
