Command Prompt Isn't Working

My command prompt isn't functioning properly.
When I try to run it, I get the same line over and over. It's the line saying your windows version and copyright.
"Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600 <C> Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp."
Normally it's only put out once but mine is putting it out several times. Around fifteen to twenty would be a fair guess.

After it finishes with that it proceeds with the normal line of entry C:\Documents and setting\etc..

I would appreciate it very much if someone could tell me how to fix it. I do not want to format my hard drive.

 

If you want to run things through cmd just do it via notepad.
