I've read somewhere that using the gift option on PayPal reduces the risk of chargeback, could someone explain to me how both the buyer and seller would do this?

I paid as a gift once, and I got scammed. But, it's very hard to get the money back, you can't say you didn't recieve items or goods because there arn't any. As far as I know the only thing you can do is say you havn't authorised the payment, and PayPal launches an investigation, which theres no point in going into. I rung PayPal up and they said the other person has to send back the money if it was you who authorised the payment. So, it's good if your the person recieving the money, because you know its unlikely they can get money back, but if your giving the money I would only recommend using it if you have a trusted MM or you trust the person your trading with.
What i've said might be completely wrong btw, it's just what I gathered from my last experience using gifting on PayPal >_<.

To do it - when sending a payment, just click on the personal tab and click gift.
