Evolution, Your Oppinion.

Well, i'll try to make this as short and snappy as I can. What do you think about evolution? Are you on the religious sides of things and think one of the Gods made us. Or do you agree with Darwin and think that we evolved from Apes. Or are you thinking a completely different theory all together?

To be honest, I have no idea, I kind of beleive in God, mainly because I want to beleive. But I think Darwins theory is much more logical as Apes and humans have a lot more in common than any other animal. Please share your though and tell me what you think, etc.

 

I agree with the Darwin theory. I also believe in God though. If God is omnipresent, he could easily have not created us, and we could've evolved from his first creation, whether bacteria or anything else.

 

I think that to dumb down the magical nature of the universe is like a slap in the face to the source (call it multiverse, god, whatever). Evolution is fact, but spirituality is a big part of my life. I honestly don't know how you could not believe in evolution...

 

I believe in evolution. Mostly because we have long term examples and short term examples. Maybe if I'm not lazy I'll post a link to an article showing how evolution can happen very quickly.

I must say though, why must evolution be spiritual? Why can we not accept it for the astounding probability and luck required in order to create such a life form? Why must it be the work of some greater intelligent power?

 

I wasn't very clear. Evolution isn't in and of itself spiritual I guess. I didn't mean to imply that a being necessarily "created" everything either. I guess all I meant by those 2 lines or so is that when you take up spirituality and become "in tune" with how everything fits together and you really see the beauty, you gain an appreciation with... Everything really.

 

Of course. Evolution is supported with masses of evidence - to deny it is incredibly stupid. For all our purposes, it can be thought of as a fact.

 

Evolution isn't a spiritual topic necessarily in terms of the evolution of species according to climatic changes, food source changes, location alteration- or at all for that matter. Mainly, I would have to say, based on scientific knowledge, that evolution is a direct result of changes in the above topics. It's a simple thought to grasp- if your species is dieing of based on climatic changes, then you must evolve to harbor and protect yourself. It's not only a theory, it's a proven fact. Many species are ancestors of other species due to evolution of the initial species.

 

Evolution is true and pretty much a fact as stated above. You can see the connections and what has happened very slowly over time.
