Well, I started thinking again. (My bad...)

    So, let's look here:
    http://www.sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=372

So much scamming has been done in years past, and it's still being much of a problem today. The majority of the scams performed most obviously will come from the Black Market, so here's how to lighten up, or fix this issue.

Instate one or more Users as a "Sythe.org Verifier".

What are the benefits of a Sythe.org Verifier?
    • Able to Verify Cash Amounts, Characters, etc.
    • Has [Verified] added to the Title and Thread, once posted on and Verified by the User.
    • Makes the Market much safer as a result.
    • More would be here, but I'm having writers block. You get the point.
So, what are you views on this?
How many "Verifiers" do you feel Sythe would need?

    Discuss.

    Unnecessary.

I'm sure anyone that is serious about a trade will verify the trade goods ingame anyway.

Also, if you see a suspicious sale, you can always PM a mod. I have required users to verify in the past.

The problem is, most scams involve pins (which can't be verified without being used), accounts (which are usually genuinely owned by the seller, but are later recovered), and paypal (where payment exists and is sent but gets reversed).

So, for the most part, verification only helps a small number of trades anyway.

    Bleh..

Verifying isn't the way to go

Another system would be better but this isn't it

It doesn't seem too bad an idea, but the process is a little complicated and unnecessary.

Also, I think that anyone who is determined to complete a successful trade would be sure to make sure the trade is legitimate. As Sin said, it's impossible to verify pins allowing them to be easily scammable.

i agree with you sin.. most of the scamms are foraccountor payments being recovered.. so there is nothing really to verify..

The only way to stop scamming is to get rid of trading all together.

Everything else is just a waste.

That's true. You can't stop scamming, but you might be able to reduce it a bit. I don't really think all the work to stop a small amount of scamming is really worth it.

It would make things kind of safer and take some responsibility and time off the Staff's hands.

There is a lot to gain and nothing to lose, why not?
