How did life on Earth start?

Well the question I ask you is how did life on Earth start. I know the answer and I will let you know who the first person to get the right answer was. So guess away. btw its not the big bang if anyone was going to say that

How did life on Earth start?

A perfect combination of molecules formed in a pond, or area of water somewhere, and when lightning struck, the energy and heat provided combined the molecules and created the first extremely basic cell.

Not really sure on the specifics but I think that is the gist of it. I remember some scientists mimicking the conditions in an elaborate system of beakers and tubes that eventually grew moss, so I know it worked.

I will slap you if you say Genesis, however.

How did life on Earth start?

How can you know the answer? Were you there 3850 million years ago when the first supposed living cell was formed? Or were you there thousands of years ago when God supposedly created Adam and Eve. To be honest I don't think theres an exact answer to the creation of life on Earth yet.

We can produce theories and discuss ideas but theres no 'answer' to it.

How did life on Earth start?

Cells (maybe spores) traveled from somewhere else in the galaxy and landed on Earth where they flourished is one idea.

How did they get on the other planet(s)?
    ^That.

Why would you be imagining yourself on Sythe? Why not on a big private island with a model and millions of dollars?

How did life on Earth start?

my question for you is, how did anything come to exist in the first place?

How did life on Earth start?

Ah now that is an interesting question. I do not think any of us really can say (that includes you, theists), as it goes back to infinity, which is a mind boggling concept.

How did life on Earth start?

How did anything come into existence? Well it's hard to comprehend, but existence always has been and always will be. It's eternal and exists outside of time and space. There never was anything but existence and never can be anything but existence. Theists (the smart, legitimately spiritual ones) will have an easier time dealing with this, MAYBE, than atheists. God just always was and always will be. Call it the multiverse if you want to separate yourself from certain organized religions if you choose. That too is eternal.

Whatever29 brings up an interesting point, however. There really is no way to know I'm not just a brain in a jar hooked up to some computer program. Actually, I think that is EXACTLY what life is. No one can explain how something as subjective as experience and consciousness could arise. This is where souls and such come into the discussion, but that's for another day. I think the question to this topic has been answered.

How did life on Earth start?

The question shouldn't be whether god or nature started life on earth, it should be what created matter in the first place. If the big bang is true then where did water come from? If god is true then where did god come from? There is no explanation for such, so I think people should just follow their instincts and believe what they want to.

Probably some hydrogen met some oxygen, they liked each other, so they hooked up. Then they visited some place with the right temperature, and they became water.

How did life on Earth start?

You are completely missing the point. His question was where did the initial protons come from that were present at the big bang. Or maybe where did the singularity come from that existed *before?* the big bang.

The answer is that higher dimensional things that are ETERNAL and exist outside of time play a factor in this. There CAN'T be a before or after, so the question where did it come from is pointless. The higher dimensional planes are infinite and timeless. Call it god or the multiverse. The 10th dimension (and I'm assuming others) are the fundamentally eternal and infinite. You can't ask where did it come from because it's a fundamental part of existence. It's hard to fully grasp this concept (I'd even go as far as impossible), but it's just how it is. Religion and philosophy have known the nature of the multiverse for a lonnngg time. That whole god is eternal, alpha and omega, beginning and end stuff refers to this concept.

The Monkeys said, "let there be light", there was light. Or are you thinking of something biblical? Maybe God made it?

How did life on Earth start?

"The Monkeys" are simply our theory on how man was created, not everything.

How did life on Earth start?

Until life is created in laboratory conditions (not just RNA/ribosomes), I will stick to a general consensus that we simply don't know. If I were to pick a theory, I'd rate abiogenesis at the top though.

    You misunderstand him.

How did life on Earth start?

and how might I misunderstand her? They are two completely different phenomena.

How did life on Earth start?

You are misunderstanding HIM - as he intentionally combined two irrelevant phenomena.

Either sarcastically or literally say that evolution was bogus.

How did life on Earth start?

No one knows the true answer to this question, however.

This question can be answered as far as our imagination can take us.
