Exactly, private. If the church is religious, and you're not religious, why have do it in the first place? In the eyes of them, you are not a believer, why would you use a church?

Yes, I agree. It just seems a little bit silly to me that they will have to change the name though, simply because the Religious Community doesn't like it. Why do they just make their opinions on homosexuality known (which they obviously do) and just leave it be?

That's true, if they want to be married in a Church.. If they want to have a union together, however, I don't think that religious organizations can have dibs to the whole "dedicated partnership" thing.

It's not the persons decision, it's the churches. If you get married in the church, you must be permitted by the church.


If a group of little kids make a group. And a kid wants to get in but he has blue eyes and you must have green eyes to join. He can't join no matter how hard he tries.

Problem is marriage is a legal status that establishes kinship between two people and gives them certain rights and benefits on a federal level. (Civil unions only exist in a few states and only give benefits on a state level)

 

If a man really loves a man or woman really loves a woman i see no problem with it. It is still love but just not the love straight couples experience. Yes there are issues to this, Yes society is not ready to accept gay marriages, Yes gays are abused often, but WE as PEOPLE have to be compassionate in how our fellow people experience emotions different to us.

 

Married? Sure why not, they have their own opinions, they're self conscious, and they can do what they want.

It's not only christian, but all religions. A church is a place of religion. And for what I know, most religions don't condone same sex marriages.

The church came up with the church bible and in the bible says that they shouldn't. The you are married in a church, without the consent of the church leaders. That is wrong, it's theirs and not yours.

Why is a marriage a sacred act? Why can't two humans of the same gender who love themselves equally as much as a female and male get married under similar circumstances. The love doesn't change, its just the gender and we are so unacceptable of that factor.

Marriage is a practice first created by the Church, so unfortunately they get to say who can be married.

As I said, what has to be done is to create a civil union with the same benefits as marriage.

 

Getting married is suppose to be a religious thing. Hence, why they have priest to wed the couple.

Personally...I believe that gay people are a neusense to society. I am a very religous and go to church every day, and have so far read through the bible twice. The bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong. Homosexuality is the worse sin imaginable. Frankly i believe that girls have pussy's guys have dicks, dicks go in pussy's not ass holes. I believe that all gay people should be prosecuted and senteced to the depths of hell. They are not born liking other guys. They make the choice of who they want to be partners with and it is disturbing some of the choices they make.
