Mega Tsunami hitting the east coast.

In the island of La Palma sits a volcano, in the canary islands. If it erupts it could set a giant landslide right in to the sea causing a wave that could travel thousands of miles and be ABOUT 1000 feet high. It could hit right through the east coast cities like Boston,Miami, and New York, anyone that still hasn't evacuated they are pretty much facing death. No North Atlantic coast would be spared. Also Britain, France, Spain and Portugal would all be badly hit North Africa would be hit by 100 meter waves. The worst damage would in the North America. No one knows when it will happen. It will happen during an eruption of Cumbre Vieja. It is an active volcano, last erupting in 1949. However the next eruption may not destroy the island, the next 10 may not. ONLY ONE THING IS CERTAIN - ONE-DAY AN INCREDIBLE FORCE WILL SURGE THROUGH THE ATLANTIC. There is no way we can stop it, all we can do is evacuate, trillions upon trillions of damage, millions dead.

It happened in Lituya bay in Alaska. A 8.3 earthquake generated a landslide that created a 516 meter (1720 feet) wave.

Why don't you just get the hell out......
It's not only the east coast of the U.S it's also Europe and North AFRICA AND THE Caribbeans. Millions of people live in these regions. I guess about 500 million easily. Now get the hell out.

Eh, this is kinda old news, but it will suck when this eventually happens. There's only one positive outcome from this.

Mavericks surf can host the ultimate big wave surf competition. :D

I really doubt it would hit NY like that. Tsunami's mainly use a volcanic center for their power, but can be derived from other sources. The nearest to NY would be Iceland and the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which couldn't disrupt wave harmonics anyway.

we get a benefit of less population and we are SEVERELY overpopulated, but everything else takes a shit

it better shut people up about the water level rising from antarctica though because we will need more inches of sea level after

Mega Tsunami hitting the east coast.

I've known about this for years. It's why I will never live within 100 miles of the east coast. I would prefer to live much higher than the water level too, so when this does happen, and the water starts to recede, it won't partially recede westward into my home.

Mega Tsunami hitting the east coast.

I had seen a video on it on youtube before. The fact that this can literally destroy cities in minutes is quite scary.
