The Epic Barrows Guide

Hello all, welcome to "The Epic Barrows Guide". This is my second guide, my first being "The Epic Pure Guide". I hope you enjoy it and this helps you Barrow.

First off, what is the Barrows? Barrows is a minigame, located south of Canifis and north of Burgh de Rott. In barrows, you dig into the tombs of six different brothers. You must kill all six brothers, and then loot the chest in a tunnel, and you can recieve rewards ranging from Runes to Bolt Racks to Coins to Barrows Brother's armour and weapons! (NOTE: Ring of Wealth doesn't increase your chances of receiving a drop) The brothers were warriors of Saradomin, back during the epic God Wars. They were given special powers by a stranger whose identity is unknown. When they died during the battles, their powers enabled them to resurrect their bodies and fight in combat. There is six different Barrows Brothers, all with their own either abilities or specialties.



Dharok the Wretched, a melee brother, has a special ability to hit higher the lower his hitpoints are. It is definitely required to use Protect from Melee if you are meleeing this brother.



Guthan the Infested, another melee brother, has a special ability to heal himself in combat. If he hits a 12, then his hitpoints goes up 12. It is suggested to use magic against this brother so he can't hit you and gain hitpoints.



Torag the Corrupted, yet another melee brother, has the ability to decrease your run energy. He is the least dangerous brother.



Verac the Defiled, the final melee brother, has the power to hit through Prayer, if you run out of prayer points, he is the brother you should go to next. He is very dangerous and you should have lots of food for him.



Ahrim the Blighted, the mage brother, attacks with Fire Wave and uses spells to weaken your combat. He is very weak to Ranged attacks and if you wear Dragon Hide, you will not need Protect from Magic against him.



Karil the Tainted, the archer brother, can lower agility by 20%. His attacks are usually very quick and accurate.


How do you get to Barrows? There is many routes included in the route below. If you use the level 66 Kharyll Teleport, you spawn slightly north of the pub in Canifis.

Suggested Stats? Yes, the suggested stats for Barrows are:

60+ Attack
70+ Strength
55+ Magic (Magic Dart)
60+ Ranged
43+ Prayer
50 Construction (for Altar + Canifis Portal)

Methods? Of course there is methods, thats what you all came for. These are the popular methods and there are multiple variations to these methods.

Slayer Dart Method

Worn Equipment:

Helm of Neitiznot
Amulet of Fury/Power/Glory
100-500 Rune Arrows

Ahrims Robe Bottom/Mystic Robe Bottom/Infinity Robe Bottom

Slayer Staff
Dragonfire Shield/Dragon Square/Rune Kiteshield/Unholy Book
D'hide Vambraces
Ring of Life/Regeneration Bracelet

Inventory:

Spade, 500 Death Runes, 1,000 Mind Runes, Home Teleport Tab
D'hide Body, D'hide Chaps, Rune Platebody (optional, shark alternative), Rune Platelegs (optional, shark alternative),
Magic Shortbow, Dragon Dagger (p++), Prayer Potion (4), Prayer Potion (4),

Procedure:

Enter Barrows and walk to Dharok's tomb now use your spade and dig inside, turn on Protect from Melee and open the coffin. Dharok the Wretched will attack you, if you can't avoid him keep your Protect from Melee on and cast Magic Dart on Dharok.

Continue to do this until he is out of hitpoints, if you are out of prayer points head over to Verac's tomb dig inside and open his coffin. You can't use Protect from Melee on him so do not waste prayer potions and don't turn it on. Cast Magic Dart to kill him.

Now go over to Ahrim, equip your D'hide and Magic Shortbow then enter the tomb and open the coffin, easily kill Ahrim using Ranged and exit.

Next head to Karil's tomb and quip your full Rune and Dragon Dagger, turn on the special and enter the tomb. After you open the coffin and Dragon Dagger Special Karil, equip your Slayer Staff and cast Magic Dart on him If he hits too high drink a dose of your Prayer Potion and turn on Protect from Ranged if needed. Once you kill him exit and walk towards Guthan's tomb.

Enter and drink a dose of your Prayer Potion then turn on protect from melee and open the coffin. Try to safespot him and cast Magic Dart if possible, but if your unable, then its not entirely necessary. After he is dead continue on to Torag's tomb.

Open the coffin and turn on Protect from Melee then magic Dart him as well and you will have succeeded to killing all Barrows Brothers.

Now go back to whatever brother's tomb you find a tunnel inside. Enter the tunnel and look for the open door closest to the middle, you may encounter the brother whose tunnel you entered anytime inside the tunnel so be aware. As you walk through you can kill creatures to increase your kill count, you should get the kill count you feel is lucky for you although most people do 12, as it is quick and easy.

When you find the correct door that is unlocked you will receive a puzzle, complete the puzzle and enter into the Chest Room. Open the chest to receive your loot and break your house teleport tab to exit. Pray on your altar and then use the Canifis teleport in your house to go back. Repeat all of the above steps.

600 Earth Runes, Prayer Potion (4), Prayer Potion (4), Prayer Potion (4),

Procedure:

Enter Barrows and head to Ahrim's tomb be sure to turn on Protect from Magic then range him until he dies. Drink a Prayer Potion dose if needed.

Next walk south to Karil's tomb and turn on Protect from Ranged then enter. Open his coffin and Range him until he dies.

Then walk to Dharok's tomb, use your spade to dig inside and turn on Protect from Melee. Open the coffin, Dharok the Wretched will attack you! Run to the other side of the coffin and cast Entangle, If you succeed, then you can turn off Protect from melee and Range him to his death. If you splash him then cast Entangle again until it works and then range him to his death.

Walk over to Guthan's tomb, enter and turn on Protect from Melee be sure to run to the opposite side of the tomb. Cast Entangle upon him until you succeed and turn off Protect from Melee and range him to his death.

Now its time for Torag. Dig inside his tomb and turn on Protect from Melee then open his coffin and run to the opposite side of it, cast Entangle until it succeeds in binding him then turn off Protect from Melee and range him to his death.

Finally head over to Verac's tomb. Dig inside (No need to turn on Protect from Melee as he can hit through it) run away from him and cast Entangle until it succeeds in binding him. Then range him to his death.

Now go back to whatever brother's tomb you find a tunnel inside. Hahahahaha! Thanks for the laugh, I really needed it. I'm not even kidding, until you posted that link, I was completely unaware of the tip.it Barrows Guide. I wish I'd have seen it earlier, because it'd be helpful when I was writing my guide. I know I have the pictures from the site (not from RuneScape), but my friend sent me those so I didn't have to find them when I was writing the guide.

Very good guide. But I figured all of this myself going to the barrows and its basically the same good methods and I get good barrows items.

To be honest this method is found on your own through trial and error, but at least someone has wrote it down for noobs

Also you need to complete desert treasure to use the canifis teleport method, unless you use a freinds house =/
