He gets to keep anything lost or forgotten, last week he found a 30Gig Ipod.

obviously nobody else has to suffer from it. their jobs lost causes him to get this free stuff, not the other way around. its not like him getting this stuff causes more people to lose their jobs.

but going from this post it seems his father is successful. its not his fault that his father is more successful and less expendable than those who unfortunately lost their jobs.

and if anyone says they wouldn't take this stuff for cheap/free then they are just lying. they would all be just as happy.

I see nothing wrong with reaping benefits of what has come to pass, even if it is morbid. To be honest, I think it is a lot better to put some of the stuff to use rather than throw it out. ESPECIALLY considering it is expensive.
