Would you kill a person in order to save others?

Would you kill say a boy or girl or mum in order to save more then 2 others?

Post your comments on what you would do.

As for the question, no I would not. Despite the utilitarian idea that there will be net good, I could not bring myself to kill another person. (Because I'm a baby and because I would not violate that persons rights by killing them)

This is basically the Trolley Problem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolley_problem) what do you guys think of that?

 

I would try to save all three, and if i could not, i would kill (myself) the mother. If i couldn't kill the mother, i would kill myself to save them. The children are the most important of mankind. Besides, they would have relatives, right?

 

Why would I have to kill someone to save 2 other people? Like I need an example situation.

 

I'd try to save someone and end up dead trying.
In self defence or in spur of the moment I might try to kill the twisted bastard giving me the decision.

Not much of a hard decision. Doing nothing is not the best way to do things when there is a hard choice to make.

 

Then it would depend on the person being killed, whether he was a criminal or a noncriminal

 

To be honest if the two people were important to me, I would. Otherwise i see no point in ending ones life even if it means saving two random ones, I couldn't bring myself to it.

 

I just read through the whole trolley problem and I love it, I'm going to look more into it later.
