I just got braces

Not a massive headcage, but normal train tracks
And it hurts
I couldnt even eat a tuna sandwich at lunch (I'm only 13 )
Any comments/advice?
Is it "meant"/usual for it to hurt when eating now? I only got it yesterday.
Will I be able to EAT? I'm kinda hungry lol
And Easter is coming up! :nuts: Easter eggs? Yes/No?

Everyone at school was "interested" Only this one kid called Marcus took the piss, and it was funny coz he was on his larry ROFL.
Turns out that I can kinda play the saxophone with 'em.
And... one of the brackets came off

Day 2:
I'm off to get it glued on again. Will update when done / back from school.
Back from school:
I got the bracket thingy glued back on now, and I bought some Starburst sweets then realised I couldn't eat them

Yes, drink Milkshakes. Also, drink water and stuff that's cold. You most likeley won't be able to eat for around a week, and it won't be comfortable for a few.

I myself don't have braces, but lots of my friends do.

Well dude yeah braces suck. had em for 2 years. You'll live, but making out sucks, as girl gets uncomfortable and scraped.

 

trust me it is worth it... eventually you teeth will look pretty good...

 

i had em for about 2 years but its all good at the end of it with straight perfect teeth, it does hurt when you first get them and when you get them tightened but its worth it

 

Oh gosh, having braces absolutely sucked. I got mine off 2 years ago after having them for about 2.5 years.
The initial pain and discomfort you're describing lasted for like 4 days for me. Stick with stuff that is easy to chew/doesn't require chewing.
It will be worth it in the end when you get them off though.

 

I had braces for a little over two years. After you get them on, there will be a pain for a few days and a pain every time you get them tightened. After braces, you get a retainer (usually a permanent one on the bottom and a removable one on top) which you have to wear for some years. Also, it'll be a hassle keeping your teeth clean with flossing/brush, etc. It'll be worth it, though, keeping them white is just as important as having them straight.

 

i have em on. D: but im almost done, yes it is suppose to hurt. but just eat mashed potatoes, ice cream etc. till it doesn't.

getting em tightened, doesn't REALLY hurt at first, but it feels like the pain you have now, cause it puts more and more pressure on your teeth.

 

I never got braces, I think teeth are kind of personal and they should stay the way they are UNLESS they are really bad.

But from what I've heard braces arn't too bad just give it time and you will get used to them. ^_^

Are your braces made of Smart alloy composites? meaning they remember their shape and if they are deformed, they re-form by themselves?

 

They will hurt for about 3-4 days hard to eat solids after that can't eat any apples etc but it's worth it when you see the out come

 

I had it for 2 years. Two fucking worst years of my life. Can't take huge bites, no sweets, no chewing gum, taking extra good care of teeth. Enjoy it.
