It's my opinion that IP bans should be given out to repeat offenders. For example: Scammers, ban evaders, porn posters, etc.

    Example:
    Noob banned for scamming.
Noob ban evades on a different name and scams again.
Noob banned, then ban evades using a different name.
Noob is caught by me and banned.
Noob comes back an hour later to scam.

It's an endless process =/ IP bans would help out a lot, after the first offense with 110% proof, and keep legitimate Sythe.org users safe and not as much work for the staff. It would also try and give Sythe.org a better reputation, in my opinion.. I figure that after a while they would get annoyed by having to proxy in and just stop.

If I'm not mistaken, IP bans are given out accordingly by the moderators.

Idk.. :) I see a lot of the same scammers and ban evaders.

I don't think IP bans are given as often as they should be. Please correct me if I'm wrong, though.

They are given out if they are found out to be ban evading.

    Proxies are another option, though.

Yeah. They could just use proxies...? But yeah, I agree with this. But I think that mods are already doing this.

Do they know when you're using a proxy? That would be good.

Anyone with a perm ban is supposed to be IP banned. But, if I know someone's on a proxy already, I usually don't bother. It doesn't make a difference, and by not banning it, it makes it easier to find their next account.

The site auto-bans proxies when it catches them, though.

Oh, good to know, then. I'm glad there is some kind of precaution.
