please distract me while I wait to hear about a job

I've got a wonderful opportunity in its final stages and I've turned in my case study on monday. They said they loved the assignment I completed, and I'm definitely a finalist as they wrap up the rest of their candidate processing. They also said they will know by the end of the week what their final decision will be.

I can't fucking stand it, I'm refreshing my email every 10 minutes. Please suggest something to distract me, whether it be your favorite TV show, a video game, an activity IRL, SOMETHING.

As for something to distract you maybe go to the gym and lift or shoot some hoops or something. I've been thinking of completely re-watching blue mountain state because I haven't seen it in years but it's funny as hell and will keep you up.

A real shitty internet trend of the last ~5 years has been online forums seem to be just dying off left and right, and those that are still up (ie Sythe) have seen a serious decline in community use. Of course, lots of these forums have just surpassed their expiration date, but it seems like no new popular forums have opened up to replace them

i’ve been wondering what exactly has spurred this serious decline, but I’m honestly not totally sure. Gotta be something to do with social media replacing the function forums did otherwise maybe? But social media has been pretty widespread popular for a good decade now.

mostly, i think it is just an outdated way of sharing information and connecting with others who share a similar interest(s) as you, which was the point of forums in the first place. Ah well, gunna miss these things

By the way, equal parts good news and frustrating as fuck update for people who aren't named morgan:

the hr contact said "we'll know by friday", but I emailed her friday evening and she said "sorry, we need more time, but your hiring manager wanted to make it known they loved your case study submission, but the 3-day weekend delayed our decision making"

So that sounds like I've got good chances, but I'm going to be irate if I had to wait 5 more days to hear a "no". So, runescape distraction continues and I have about 6 skills at level 30+ now, and all but 5 f2p quests done

Also oddly enough, I've been playing OSRS all day today and so far, I've been given 500K total from random players. The first time I thought was cool luck, but four separate times I've been given cash or items like full gilded rune armor etc. I know it's not a lot, and maybe it's because GP is so devalued these days, but I'm just sitting here killing chickens so I can use the feathers for fly fishing, and people are like "hey bud. here you go" and then they leave. Strangest thing, people used to be SO STINGY back in 2005-07
