Reporting B Dog for sniping my RSN

Explanation of the trade/How they scammed: About a month ago, August 30th to be exact, I purchased the RSN "Fruit" for a price me and the seller agreed upon (1.5b OSRS GP). Weeks later while switching between my old RSN and Fruit to reset the timer before my previous name would be freed up (As I was looking to sell this name) it had been sniped from my grasp within milliseconds. Speechless, I reached out to many people who I thought would have any idea of its whereabouts/what to do, I have been shown it has been sniped by the user "B Dog" and then sold to another OSRS player for 1.2b gp conducted here on Sythe.

- Proof of acquisition and ownership of Fruit (Can provide anything else if necessary pics or vouches) will be included in screenshots as well as proof of B Dog selling it will be found in screenshots.

I can confirm I Middlemanned the trade here with @B dog and @MoonWalkerr .

 

I'm sorry for your loss on the name but I didn't know this was a sniped name when I got it. I didn't take the name myself personally, I got it from another person I'm friends with on Discord. I've asked them about the source of the name but no response yet, i'll update the thread when I get a response.

Any time I buy a name I do the following things to avoid owning a sniped name:

- I check Assassin's and Alex's names to avoid channels in discord.
- I search the name on Sythe forums for the name and sift through any mentions of the name to see if any sort of thread has been opened
- I search other name discords openly for any mentions of the name to see if people have mentioned it.

After I own a name, I then do the following:
- Get the account off tutorial island (Required for trading bonds for xfer anyway) and leave private message ON for some time. I would expect anybody who had a name sniped to probably be messaging the account if they're online. It at least gives me a chance to know if the name was sniped before selling it. On this point, I received a message from a guy called "Lil" (Who I suspect you guys know?) who messaged me. I made no effort to hide my identity or the fact that I was selling the name, but they never once mentioned it being sniped or anything even close to that. They claimed they were just a random person looking for interesting names which seemed odd. At least they can confirm that I didn't try anything shady or hide my identity and they never mentioned sniping. Other than this, I've had no message from anybody in game.

Regarding how I check for sniped names, I couldn't find ANY mention of Fruit being sniped from any of the discords used to sell names that I could find.
On a special note, I was on the topic of name sniping with Assassin/Bold, one of the biggest name traders on Sythe before I owned the name Fruit. He asked me if I owned Fruit (Which I didn't at the time) and said the following about the owner simply releasing the name:

This is coming from one of the top name traders on the whole forum, and his discord didn't mention the name at all, let alone in his "names to avoid" channel where he lists snipes. I thought the name was simply released.

So when the chance came to get Fruit, I don't think there's anything else I could have done to avoid selling a sniped name by mistake. There is just zero information out there about this name having been sniped.

I'm trying to make a name for myself on this forum, trying to start a name shop and trying to stay clean but in all honest this is one area where I just don't know how to handle it. I've asked other sellers how they avoid it, how they handle sniped names and it seems there's no clear way to go about it. I'm sorry for your loss but honestly I don't even know how to avoid this situation in the future.

 

There was a misunderstanding at first. The screenshot provided was before I realized it was taken instantly so that SS is completely out of context. Now even tho it was released accidentally, it doesn't make it Not a sniped name as the owner realized it immediately and still the name was taken lol. You would of had to "take the name while it was free" within a few seconds so its hard to believe you didn't snipe it yourself. Previous rulings by Sythe Staff Prove This. Just because its not on avoid lists, doesn't mean its sniped. We don't put many in hopes of antiscamming especially if someone besides colt got it which seemed apparent.

Also you randomly come to this forum, have a definite working program to "get" names as admitted by you, you randomly know how to transfer names perfectly despite the fact you are brand new which is just sus, and came up with multiple rare names out of no where to @Alex and @Dr1p which is another red flag. User also has a name sniped off my customer and is trying to sell it, just don't remember his discord name to track him down. The name is "<Redacted>" I am sure B Dog can vouch to selling that name.

Also you had one of @Dr1p 's sniped names that he lost while swapping it, and he had to ask you back for it. In my opinion just too many red flags man.
