We're allowing users to vote on an idea that I have thought of and discussed with staff.

I'm getting tired of seeing those "Can someone please make me 'x'" or "Selling my services" riddled throughout all of the different programming forums, so I suggested a 'Programming Market', where people can request services and programmers can offer them. Similar to the way Rentacoder.com functions.

Well, that's all I really need to say. Vote!

To be honest I think it's a horrible idea.
Why not just make the lazy bastards learn the language.

Do you notice that coding and programming and learning the different languages takes years to master? I am a 10th year programmer in the field, and I still do not know all languages and have not mastered them all.

That is why if Sythe were to open this market, it would be an innovative way for Sythe users to buy scripts, website help, etc.

As long as they inputted some sort of bidding system, where you can actually see the current bid and outbid the person also.

Another idea for them to do, is to have a "Programming Profile". This could be where the programmer will tell his clients and the forum members which languages they know, and what they can do for their clients.

Thats all from me for now =D

In that case, why doesn't Sythe just remove the black market and have people earn their own gold?

I agree. This could help me as well as I am more than likely going to need help with some programs in the near future. Love the idea.

HAHAH, you cracked me up with that one man!

Honestly, I think it is a great idea. Would save people a lot of money if they needed quick, efficient professional help instead of going to rentacoder.

I personally use rentacoder every once in a while when I am planning on going on a business trip, so I just do the program on the plane =P

I work for Motorola, so I get flown out to different areas to help out with the Video on Demand. If this idea came out, I would switch from rentacoder and just help out people around the forums for a little spare change to help out with my Runescape characters =D

I'm not active in the programming forums (In fact I've never posted in them), but as long as there's enough potential trades I don't see a problem.

I think it's a good idea if you guys can implement it safely. Obviously scamming is going to be a problem and can be solved by ways of using a middleman.

However, the new problem that exists with this form of trading is the possibility of viruses, keyloggers, etc being planted by programmers. For this reason I would have to say you should have a set list of people who are permitted to sell their programming services/expertise and ensure that the members of this list are significantly trusted. Without that this could become a disaster seeing as making a stealthy undetectable keylogger is no longer a very difficult feat.

I agree with Nullware to a extent and think that all scripts should be verified if they are to be sold or used at the users own risk but this will also cause a mass of leaking and attempted selling of free scripts, etc. I also think people will code crappy/inefficent/useless code in a effort to make money or get difference parts of difference scripts and patch them together to create "their" own script.
