This project was at first mostly managed by me. But it shortly afterwards turned out to be a pain in the ass as most people tried to sell useless guides. The idea was to only get your guide verified if you had something unique and special to sell.
Nowadays people are just trying to make money selling useless guides.

To mods: Don't just verify. During my time i think I verified 2 guides or something. If it's gonna be verified it should be worth the money.
Alternatively forbid the selling once again.

I don't think there should be more mods. Most of the people that want a guide verified are just scammers, or aren't actually going to buy the guide.

I suppose either a new group of "method testers" as someone said before me, OR getting rid of guides. I'd rather have guides gotten rid of, as ive been scammed for guides before...not runescape though, halo.

Tons of people fall for guide scams.

Wizzi1 was the biggest fuckin guide scammer I've ever seen. I'm still confused about his dumb ass 100mil in an hour guide got verified.

However late this post is concerned, I would like to clarify that I HAVE gone through in game to test the methods I verify. If they worked, I verified. Nearly (if not all of them) were patched shortly after (which I tested AGAIN just to be positive). It is not my fault if Jagex updates runescape and the guides no longer work.

It's not a problem now though, seeing as guides are not REQUIRED to be verified. If you want it verified, Runescape Moderators are heading the project.

Method Testers are needed - Trusted, commited people on sythe such as kamakazy_kid, TJ, etc etc

A good idea would be to create a sticky with a list of users who are trusted to verify guides.

As said before, why not just get rid of selling guides? It is useless and people have more than likely leeched it off of someone else.

I agree, selling guides are extremely stupid, guides are leaked anyways... people never follow the "No leaking rules, or respect any copyrights..."

I think if your going to sell a guide you should atleast get it varified as original and usable before being able to sell it. I've seen multiple threads with 2 pages of people asking to varify it and 2 more pages after it's varified asking what page the mod paosted it on. The guy will usually sell 2 guides and his thread dies. We should make a guide varification section and possibly a group devoted to looking at these guides. Then if you have an unvarified guide just delete their post and give them an infraction or something.

And like Inventor said you could charge a small fee to weed out the time wasters. A small 2 dollar charge would be easy enough to keep the massive amount of people asking to stop. Just like you guys charge for MMing why not start doing it for guide varification.
