NEWS FLASH: Marijuana Isn't good for you

I don't really see any pro's in drugs except for the "medical ones" like if you have a cough or something. And yet people still abuse these "medical ones" like come on when did drugs start becoming good?

If they are in your head, they aren't withdrawal symptoms.

 

So you're saying that keeping a break after weeks(maybe months) of daily smoking doesn't affect you mentally?
EDIT: And for the "PHYSICAL" part; Yeah maybe in the books but in real life withdrawal symptoms affect your head too. So you can say it's caused by marijuana.

To answer your question in the best way I can:

It doesn't have to.

Some people who gamble for example cannot stop without having withdrawal symptoms, others can.

It's MENTAL and not PHYSICAL.

So there is nothing like a good heroin withdrawal explanation to fix that.

After taking heroin it crosses the blood-brain barrier, and binds to the u-opioid. The repeated use of heroin causes your brain to lower it's u-opioid receptor count. Heroin suppresses the brains natural ability to produce certain neurotransmitters. The time it takes for your brain to regain the ability to produce these neurotransmitters is the time you will be experiencing withdrawal, and it also explains why heroin users develop a tolerance.


Marijuana does not have any withdrawal. You can quit smoking without experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Are there side-effects of quitting marijuana? Yes. It is my best understanding that they are not classified as withdrawal symptoms because they do not create an intense need for marijuana.

The three I'm aware of are: Anxiety, loss of apatite, and trouble sleeping.

Withdrawal symptoms only occur when a physical dependence to a substance exists. Marijuana does not have a physical dependence.

 

It's true. All my friends that withdraw from it because their parents caught them or their job gives random tests, they easily, without a problem, withdraw from it. They admit they miss it because they have fun doing it with friends, but it was no big deal to them. Marijuana is not addicting unless used over a long period of time, so that's why.

 

Same here. I had to quit when I got busted by my parents, (september 2006). I could quit without any problems. The reason why I was caught was, because my friend (who lives like ~15 km/~10miles away) got caught and his mother called up to my parents to say that I also smoked marijuana. How sad is that? Well, at first my parents wouldn't believe it, since I don't smoke cigarettes and I always hated it (I still do), and I also used that as an argument but eventually I admitted it. I had quit for 10 months.

Gambling isn't like smoking cannabis so how can you compare them like they were equally as bad?

I don't think you understand that in real life things are experienced in a practical way and when talking about drugs I think that personal experience is better than to write here some stuff you learned in the health education class.

Those aren't withdrawal symptoms, they are side-effects yes, but not withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms only occur when PHYSICAL dependence exists.

Personal experience is a lot less reliable.

Academic knowledge isn't absolute and it isn't right, but it's the most modern "best guess" which is a hell of a lot more reliable than personal experience.

Do you mix tobacco with your weed, you could be getting needs for it from the nicotine. Or you may have a psychological dependancy because you are depressed and weed helps alleviate that.

 

I smoke tobacco every day; I know what side effects there are for nicotine and weed. >_>

I think the opposite. For example, if I had a problem with drugs and wanted to quit I'd want someone who knows what he is talking about to support me.

But, by saying that, I think if they are going to legalize marijuana in one country, they should do it in all.

By doing it in one, the people from that country can grow it cheap, take it overseas and make BIG bucks.

Or deal easily and freely within their own country.

 

Why should all countries be the same? Every country has it's own rules and that is what can make a country interesting. Also, not every civilization conform to the same rules, because of their culture, religion and other factors.

Do you know how economies work? The more supply there is, (compared to demand,) the lower the price will be. Marijuana can be grown almost anywhere, so the price of marijuana would drop insanely, so people lose interest in growing marijuana. So this would be negative. Also, it's harder to control the production of marijuana and the quality, since everybody grows plants.

 

You're just getting fed a dozen more drugs if you go see a doctor. Medicine isn't a cure for addicts.

Talking is the only way out. The decision to quit has to come from yourself; you need to understand that you're not just harming yourself but everyone around you. This is where a person with personal experience, yet still educated, can be a great help.

 

Who edited the thread title? I think there are some good aspects of marijuana too. Everything's not black and white...

It's completely organic, you don't even have to add anything to it, it's not like it's made in a lab like the fucked up shit like meth, coc, and heroin, it's completely natural and God gave it to us because God is a nice Guy.
