Reviving an old forum, in need of volunteers.

Since I do not want to advertise, I will refer to the forum as "my forum." If you want the link [or hopefully interested in helping me out] you can either look around this post [It's obvious, look low >_>] or add my msn.

Ok, before we start off, some random facts:

The forum has been around for over 2 years.
At the time of me writing this thread, the stats are: Members: 26,764 | Total Posts: 123,707 | Total Threads: 22,264

The main features of the website include a black market for Runescape, WoW, and a misc market forum. I'm also currently working on a private server. [Someone else is coding it currently].

Now, the website isn't nearly as active as I'd like it to be. At one point the site was full of activity, but over time it simply started dying out. I need to advertise it more. I'm not here to do that here, but I would love the tools to advertise it.

I'm no GFX artist, and am lacking them on my website. As of now, my ranks suck, I have no real banner, and I'm in dire need of a promotional signature.

There's a few. Yea, they're nice and all, but they're getting old and aren't too flashy.

I also need a new banner, and a promotion signature. For the promotional sig, I don't want a normal sig that has a random picture with the tiny name in the corner. I'd like a nice background that stands out with the name, and a few words on it, so it's all easy to see. I have this shitty test sig I made for someone on a super old site of mine to give them an idea, here it is. [note this site is long dead and isn't in use anymore, etc]:




Also, if anyone knows any good methods of advertising, please let me know. I need all the help I can get here. I also have a few mods but once the activity grows I'll definitely be looking for more.

You're allowed to advertise in your signature as far as i'm aware. I'm assuming the link in the bottom of your signature is to your website but if so, its very small etc. You might want to double check, but if it is okay then i'd suggest having a signature with the name of your forum and have the picture linked to it.

Having popular Sythe members join that site would definately help advertise it. You need to build a real good community there though, like Sythe has everything so it's not easy competing with other forums such as this one.

I know this sounds lame, but since its a Runescape based forum, you could make Runescape video's, post them on youtube and advertise your site through there. Like at the end of a pk'ing vid, have the site name or something. If your website has a Runescape video section such as this site, simply ask them if they could help promote the site by advertising it in the Runescape video's they have made and posted on youtube.

Other than that, i'd suggest getting cool pictures, good layouts, easy navigation etc, cool ranks and all that sort of thing. Like i love how sythe has those little pictures of things as ranks instead of the little square things you have the example of.

I know it's near impossible to do this but, try to make it unique.

Anyway thats all i can think of and i hope some of that helps.

Yes, that's the website, and yes, I am allowed to have it there. The picture linked to it is the promotional signature, of which I am asking for.

Maybe, but it's not like I'm going to send each one of them PM's about it.

It's a black market forum, but this is still a good idea. I'd need someone to make/edit the vid, etc.

Go to the website and tell me what you think? I think it's fairly good on organization. I did almost the entire layout by myself. [Order of forums and whatnot].

Having a banner helps with that.

Well someone's given me the suggestion to offer someone GFX artist on my website if they were to be dedicated on the project.
