If it has a brain it has the capabilities to have feelings and thoughts. An example with cats and dogs since many have them, notice how they are comfortable around some humans but hate others, its because they have feelings or love for you

saying animals dont think or have feelings is just dumb.,
if you go kill 3 pandas in front of its mother with a machete( not that i ever would thats just f***** up) ofcourse she would try to kill you. you killed her babies. she would think about it . but then she might just be consumed by rage.

    Wonderful. :D

I really appreciate a good analysis. One that doesn't follow a gut feeling. Obviously animals can think. We're animals too... one could debate that we're not even a superior species. Thoughts are just electrical impulses in the brain. So yeah. Animals have brains. Usually.

Of course they do. As Shredder said earlier in this thread, chemicals in the brain allow you to have feelings, and animals do have these, along with the parts of the brain that allow thinking.

If they didn't feel, a cat would not purr and rub against you when you scratched his head or pet him.

The only real question about animals people raise is whether or not they have souls, in which case the Catholic church teaches they do not.

If animals didn't have emotions they wouldn't do things like cry, wag their tails, and bark like a dog does.

Yeah, animals have feelings and can think. They just aren't as mentally advanced as humans, aren't capable of speech, etc. Remember that people are animals too.

Of course animals think or they'd just be limp... lol. I think they have feeling's to a certain extent but not all of them. I think dogs have more emotions than ants, which I don't think have any. Dog's do seem to get rather depressed and angry if they don't go out for a walk etc.

Animals do have feelings and think.

If they couldn't think, how do wild animals live in the wild? How to get food, how to evade predators, how to stay safe. You have to think.
As for feelings, of course they feel. If you look at a dogs eye, you'll see that sometimes they have white tears on under their eyes, which means they are crying. If you hurt them, their feelings toward you will be both scared and hatred.

    So yes, animals have both.

I honestly don't even know why this is a debate. Animals obviously have feelings, just like anything else with a brain.

You could argue that the instincts of animals are what cause them to act the way they do. When you put your hand on something hot, you instinctually pull your hand away because you brain has just registered pain. Although it is obvious that animals think, a better debate would be about what, and to what extent do they think?
