am i stuck as a midget?

i've been concerned recently about my height, and im wondering if there's anyone here at sythe who knows about that shit and could read this post and tell me what they think i'll appreciate it

so, im 16 years old, i am 1.64 Meters tall. (5`5)

my Father is around 1.98 (6`6) meters and my Mom is 1.62 (5`4)

im pretty much one of the shortest guys in my grade which causes some self esteem issues.

now, recently i've went to a doctor for some kind of X-ray examination on my wrist that tells me the age of my Bones, as in to see how much they have left to grow, the doctor said the bone age suits a 16 year old boy. so i might still have growth potential.


now, if anyone here at sythe knows a bit about the subject, do i still have good odds of getting reasonable height, seeing that my dad is a Sasquatch, or im more likely to end up Vertically-challanged because of my mom's height?


Also if we are discussing height please help me with these issues-

1. i work out at a gym, does weight exercise without the back fully supported by a chair harmful to my growth? i've heard both that it stunts your growth, and i've heard that it actually stimuates your bone growth- please answer.

2. are there natural exercises or anything that enhance your bone growth? im willing to go for stuff that requires long terms of commitment as long as it brings results

3. if all else fails, are there any kinds of hormones i can take to stimulate growing? (also if you can give examples to stuff that actually works)

 

Excercise can help growth, it cant stunt it unless you do it incorrectly. That is a myth.

You can get certain types of steroids and hormones to help you grow, DEPENDing on how old your bone marrow is. When did you have your growth spurt?

Surgery is also an option, but it is risky, harmful, and very painful. Certain excercises will help you grow, but that requires long terms of commitment.

 

they will not issue you HGH as you are not that short.

Surgery is not an option, again you are not short enough.

If it concerns you enough, you can go to a doctor and have an x ray done on your wrist. They can tell for how long, and how high you will grow by looking at the x ray. I highly doubt you are finished growing, i'm estimating another spurt to about 5 8 by the time you're 18.

 

That's not true. Some people can stop growing at very early ages. You can always get hormone injection with enough money and connections.

It is better to see an endocronologist about it. Do not see your doctor about it, unless you have a high-end one. Most doctors don't know shit, since they aren't paid to learn about information in that area.

 

x-ray on the wrist is basic stuff... you just need to see the doctor for a referal.

 

well, as i said in my post, i had that X-ray thingy done to me and the dude said i still have growth potential because my bone age suits a 16 year old boy (while some people already finished their growth ages ago and their bone age is much older than their real age)

im doubtful i can get a really high-end doctor, because i doubt my parents will open their wallets for that XD

No. My friend has been taking growth hormones since 5th grade, we are now both in 10th. He honestly was shorter than some of the 2nd-3rd graders. He was a tiny person. Now, he is about 5'11, like me.

They work, and are safe, just make sure your needle is clean/nobody else uses. The good hormone can be expensive though. Don't expect it to be very cheap.

You stop growing at ages 15-17, and if you probably won't grow any more outside those years.

 

You actually reach your growing peak at the age of approximately 21.

Friend of mine was same height as me b4 summer, but when he went to states, all he did was swim all day and when he came back he was taller than me.

When you don't see someone for awhile you notice everything that changes, he was probably growing while you hung out with him.


Don't go buying hormones and getting surgery just to get taller, spend that money else where.

 

Lifting weights does stunt your growth. I would resort to other more stamina based activities.

 

if your not getting enough sleep at night that can effect you in some ways..
try getting more sleep at night, it could help some what..
also do some stretches and other actives..
putting so much weight on your back bone can stress it out..
so if i were you lay of the weight lifting for a little while..
and see if anything starts to happen.
also you still have a couple more years tell you finaly stop growing..
so just stay positive..

 

going to the gym and working out daily makes you STOP growing. for exercise try going without weights; do pushups, situps, and run a mile or 2 a day

 

I was about 5'10" when I was your age, I am 18 now and 6'5" and still growing. My dad is 6'3" and my mom is 5'8". Most people grow as tall or taller than their dads.

 

That's interesting. I'm 5'11 and 16. I haven't grown in 2 years, none of my friends have been growing either. Although I'm a good height I'd like to be taller.

I've heard the growth generally ends around 18, so you may hit six.

When I used to do gym work, I stopped growing any taller. I stayed there for six months, and I stayed the same height. Two months after I stopped, I grew two centimetres. I believe doing weights stops you growing.
