    I don't think there are different perceptions of a drug addict. A drug addict is one who abuses illegal or legal drugs for non-medical purposes.

    They're normal everyday people to me, unless they do long term meth and look fucked up in the face, then I might look at them differently. Marijuana, I don't find it bad if someone does it, but if I know one of my friends does the heavy stuff I might look at him or her in a different way.

    An addiction is a persons choice.
    I think if someone wishes to sell drugs, it is not wrong.

    I love sprite, but they sell that over the counter, dont they?
    My mom loves alchohol, yet they give it over the counter, correct?

    What so diffrent about drugs?

    I agree, unless we're talking about children and teens. They're moldable and shouldn't be affected by foreign substances at their young age.

    I don't see what the analogy is here.

    Sometimes people want the addiction and they use it to solve problems. I read about someone who had stomach problems his whole life and doctors could never find out what caused these stomach pains. After he tried heroin he said that the pain went away and that he tried to get an addiction to it on purpose so he would feel better. Depends on how you look at it.

    Doesn't matter to me what they do. If it keeps them calm and not freaking out then they can take as much as they want, personally i would never... But they know's it will kill them so let them do as they please, as long as they die doing what makes them happy..

    I also think as a society we should start looking at drug addiction as a medical problem, rather than a criminal one.

    Sorta. But when people are on drugs, they tend to do things they normaly wouldn't do, such as crime. Also, when people spend all of their money on the drug, they result to crime to get the money for it.
    Sprite doesn't impair your thinking/choices.

    Alright, let me add my two cents lmao.

    A drug addict can only be with addictive drugs. Hence, addict. There are alot of drugs you can get addicted to, and there are alot of different levels of a drug addict. lol.

    Ok.
    1. Stop saying 2 cents, it's overused and unoriginal.
    2. What you just said was already stated.
    3. You can get addicted to anything
    4. Wtf? The question is on drug addicts themselves, not how they are addicted unless you're going with this somewhere?

    I'd love to hear the drugs that aren't bad. How can an illegal substance be good? You can get yourself into some stupid stuff no matter what drug you use.

    What's the difference? Both are illegal substances? Just because it isn't as "bad" it's okay? I'm not sure you can be on the fence on this issue. It's either one way or another.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    They aren't useless, I just think that some fall victim to circumstances (be in financial needs, medical funding, etc.). I believe it depends on you personally as to if you'll become addicted to a drug by hanging out with someone. I've had my friend make bad life choices going from Weed to Ecstasy. It also depends what drug you are talking about, and what your definition of "in moderation" means. And finally, it is all based on your morals if it's morally wrong to you (to me yes, not to mention illegal).
    Marijuana, for one can hardly be considered bad.
    There was a study released a few weeks ago showing that alcohol had a worse effect on teenagers brains than weed did. I can show you it if you like.
    E is pretty safe, I wouldn't be so quick to condemn him just because he enjoys using it. Now, I obviously don't know the situation like you do, so it could be a sign of a problem.
    (If you're interested in ecstasy, this has a lot of info: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_faq.shtml)
    I'm assuming you are against allowing people to make their own choices? (Like on whether they can use drugs?)
    I think that even though most drugs do have at least some harmful side effects or reactions on your body no person should have the right to tell another what they can/cant put in there body. Even though some drugs do also have a addictive personality users are still free to make their own choices even if in the longrun they end up quitting or staying addicted.
    Even if certain substances are illegal they have legal substances that will kill you 20 times faster than any illegal drugs which is why i think that drugs and addicts will always be on the earth until the drugs are gone.
