    ~§~Summoning Tank Guide~§~

Welcome to Rare Name's Summoning Tank guide.

    Overview:

To begin with, what is an ST (Summoning Tank)?

An ST is an account with high level Defence and Summoning, this combination is advantageous because you can use the Familiar to attack your foe and use your high level armor to protect yourself against their attacks.

The lowest levels an ST should have before they attempt to enter a PvP world are 45 Defence, 35 HP and 36 Summoning.

Note: You should always equip a training bow when possible to avoid gaining combat experience.

    Supplies:

To begin with, you should have 5M+ gold before you start training, so you can train without having to worry about supplies.

The supplies you will need are:

    • Full iron armor and boots.
    • Full steel armor and boots.
    • Full black armor and boots.
    • Full adamant armor and boots.
    • Rune platelegs, chain mail and boots.
    • 1,000+ salmon for beginner training.
    • 500+ Lobsters for harder training.
    • 10 Lumbridge, Varrock and camelot teleport tablets.
    • 100 Falador teleport tablets.
    • Wolf bones.
    • 270 raw chickens.
    • Several thousand pouches and shards.
    • A few dozen Super Energy Potions(4)

Note, it is not required to buy all of these at once, but it will speed up training if you do so.

    Training:

The following Familiars all give Defence experience:

    Granite Crab

    Level 16

    Spirit Kalphite

    Level 25

    Void Spinner

    Level 34

    Bronze Minotaur

    Level 36

    Iron Minotaur

    Level 46

    Steel Minotaur

    Level 56

    Mithril Minotaur

    Level 66

    War Tortoise

    Level 67

    Granite Lobster

    Level 74

    Adamant Minotaur

    Level 76

    Rune Minotaur

    Level 86

    Iron Titan

    Level 95

    Beginning:

If it's a new account, you should get the experience lamps from Tutorial Island. Then complete the Stronghold of Player Safety and keep the lamps all four lamps in your inventory for later.

Teleport to Falador and walk to Pikkupstix's house. Ask him about the Wolf Whistle quest and say you'll gather him some items. Click on him again and give him the wolf bones. Do what he tells you and you'll finish the quest. Congratulations, Level 4 Summoning.

Teleport to Falador and withdraw a few dozen Falador tablets, all of your shards, and some pouches.

Run to Pikkupstix's house, climb down the ladder and make Dreadfowl pouches, teleport to Falador and fill up your inventory with supplies and repeat until you've used up your raw chickens.

You should now have Level 16 Summoning, congratulations.

You can now use the Granite Crab familiar on other NPCs, when it attacks an NPC it provides Defence experience, which is very helpful for training both Defence and gathering charms.

You can buy Granite Crab Pouches on the Grand Exchange until you have enough charms to make your own.

Use some of the Pouches on the Summoning Obelisk under Pikkupstix's house and make them into Scrolls.

Some of the best NPCs to gather Gold Charms from are: Rock Crabs, Goblins, Cows, Guards, Black Knights, Druids, Dwarfs, Earth Warriors, Hill Giants.

Remeber to always have your Crab summoned when you're training, also, always use the 'Block' option.

Choose if you will level Strength as well as Defence. The tradeoff of Strength is combat levels, but it will greatly speed up training.

You should start training by going to the Cow pen in Lumbridge. Wear full Iron and Iron boots. In your inventory you should have a few lumbridge tablets and some salmon. It's also a good idea to have full steel and black armor in your inventory (including the boots.)

Train on the cows until about Level 30 Defence. Remember to always collect charms, whatever kind they are.

When you're ready, head the the Grand Exchange and purchase an amount of Iron Ore equivalent to the number of Gold Charms you have.

Go through the same routine as before, using Shards, pouches, charms and ore on the Obelisk.

Just continue this this process over and over: use a familiar while you're training, gather the charms and make more pouches.

At Level 36, you can begin PKing with the Bronze Minotaur, although it's recommended that you wait until a higher level.

Continue this process as long as you want.

At Level 70 Defence you can wear Barrows armor, although you should only do this if you have money to lose.

    Money making:

There aren't many great money-making methods for STs, just collect drops from training.

You can always Woodcut, Fish, pick Flax, etc.

    Notes:

I'm going to add pictures in a few hours.

    Please comment and rate!

I can't say I've ever really thought of making one, because frankly, for PvP, summoning sucks unless you have a Titan.

Shouldn't it be the other away around? Quest first then exp?..

You can wear full rune minus plate. Unless you go with guilded.

For that to work you would already have to have high defence and summoning levels for the zeals to be effective.

    You would be Level 57.

I'm going to add pictures when I have the time, although they're not really needed, in my opinion, it's kind of self-explanatory. That's for the input.
