So I'm gonna try out rap.

Here's the basic deal.

I cannot fuckin' stand rap.
I have listened to MANY songs by newer rappers, and I could not stand it.
At all.

I like pretty much any music besides country and rap, literally, pretty much anything.

Well, I used to write rock songs, and all my friends IRL are trying to get me into rap, so they asked me to try writing my own rap song.

I am always up for the chance to try something new when it comes to music, so I accepted immediately, because no matter how much I hate the genre, I might like writing my own raps, and I might end up liking it.

So, I have some questions.

Is rap always hella repetitive?
Does rap always got to have a beat?

And any tips would be appreciated, plus if you could recommend a rap song that doesn't totally blow, that has actual meaning in the lyrics and not some poser shit like
"hey your a bitch, i do drugs and drive a low riding car.
