;) It was a joke. I don't make the rules here @ sythe. Hell, I probably disobey half of them.

Don't look @ me for an answer, ask someone higher up.

Ever tried buying a product? (Or even trying to use a newer version?)

You might want to if you haven't already. It's well worth the satisfaction, knowing you help pay for a programmers food that s/he needs to live in order to create more programs that you like so much.

Object-orientation is not a language, it is a way of keeping things flexible. VB is useless anyway in the real world, and your first projects should be in ANY language you understand. Even COBOL or Intercal can teach you to think like a computer.

You can use control arrays in vb.net, it is just really lengthy in code and very inconvenient.

VB6 is terrible AND outdated. I agree with him - I probably had this oppinion before him.

.Net is far better in terms of both code standards and features. If you can't realise this, then you're an idiot hands down.

I'm laughing because people are picking at the fact that "omfg I can't use control arrays!" - Long story short, there are more effective ways of doing the same thing, so Microsoft removed the useless features. Good on them.

That's my little half-rant for the day. Topic hasn't had any replies in a while, but I feel like saying my part.

Edit: With regards to the bytecode that .Net uses, hear this - Windows comes packaged with .Net now anyway.

It's still not native code and will never be as low-level as real Win32.

Once upon a time, VB6 required it's users to download a runtime too ;)

I know. I was comparing .NET to Win32 programming in general, not just VB6.
