Ipod touch - won't turn on

I have an 8gb, 2gen itouch, 2.2.1, and I jailbroke it this morning. It worked fine after i jailbroke it, and nothing was wrong with it - I could listen to music. It was fine after I came back from school, but when I (I think) plugged the usb into the computer, it wouldn't charge, or do anything.

I can't turn it on using the power button. Also, I get an error saying "USB Device Not Recognized". Here's what I've tried:
* Holding the power button at the top.
* Holding the power button AND the home button at the same time for 10+ seconds.
* Connecting it to the usb, so it can charge.
* Restarting the computer.

Things to know before posting:
* If I connect the ipod to the computer, iTunes will not recognize it, nor will my computer.

My screen is black, and won't respond to anything I do. It's probably the jailbreaks/my fault, but I'd like to see any more suggestions.

If I see anyone only posting something like "loooll dude ur fucked, u shouldnt of jailbroke it", I will report you. I don't need that crap.

 

The second generation iPod touch is a tethered jailbreak meaning you have to have it plugged in and use the program you used to JB is to turn it on.

seems like a bad situation. sadly you have voided the warranty. personally i would pry it open and detach the battery and retach it. once attacheds reclose and hold power for 10 seconds (drains excess battery) then plug it in and see if it runs. worst case scenario sell it for parts.

You can reset the firmware by putting it in DFU mode and then plugging it into your computer. It will recognize that its an iPod in DFU mode and from there you can reinstall the old firmware.

 

are you serious here, you can easly reset your iTouch to factory conditions, as said by Daily.

 

The iPod Touch 2G only has a tethered jailbreak, so I guess that's the problem.
