Merchant: A person involved in retail.

Merch Krew (merch_krew) is a clan chat where a group of people purchase a large number of a particular item, thus making it unavalible to the Runescape community, thus increasing the price!

Every week Merch Krew will put a item and price in the tittle of the clan chat; for eg:

Now all you do is purchase this item and buy quantity ammounts, most of the Krew around the 60 members of Merch Krew will invest in this product, then when the prices rise we sell.

All you simply got to do is check up on the Merch Krew Clan chat for the lattest item,

*Plus there is some really nice people in there if you wish to stay and chat!

Frankly, if you're small-time you can probably do just fine on your own. There's lots of items that Jagex has made "manipulation-proof". Items like trimmed armor, etc.

If you only have a few mil, those items are perfect because you can merchant them at almost max spread (though in very small quantities of like 10-20 per day).

Now if you have like 100 mil or more, you may want to see about riding the tiger with price manipulation, but you can very easily get burned.

Those clans usually send word out about an item right after the core insiders just got done buying a ton of them. Once the word goes out they slowly sell as the price rises and the "tag-alongs" like yourself have a hard time getting any quantity. And by the time you are loaded up, everyone else is loaded up too and no one is left to buy. Then the price crashes. The insiders are finished selling and you're holding the bag trying to dump your items at GE minimum before the price ticks down another 5%.

Basically this is the same thing that penny stock pumpers do in the real world stock market. It ain't pretty for the small guy who "thinks" he knows what he's doing.

On the other hand, Runescape is just a game, so you may want to have fun and experience some wild swings. Cry with your losses and celebrate your gains. If you come out behind in the end, oh well. Just chop some more logs or whatever. Have fun with your merchanting.

Manipulating with team is lame, even not manipulating but merchanting. The leaders or something like that of 'clan' sells the items BEFORE the actual dump date and sells ALOT, therefore he / they make a lot of GP and you only make a couple of pens. :/ Just merch on your own, like me.. find good item and merch
