How To Configure Your Startup Programs!

--- How To Configure Your Startup Programs ---

Step 1

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run.

Step 2

Once you've done that you should have a small window appear that looks something like below. Type msconfig and hit enter.

Step 3

You will now see a window named System Configuration, you'll see a few tabs, look for the Startup one and click it.

Step 4

You should now see a list of startup items. Move your cursor over the 'Startup Item' tab and drag it drag it to the right so you can see all of the names properly.

Step 5

Browse through the startup list and disable any programs you do not want. Please be careful that you don't disable any important system components or drivers.
You should only disable programs you know aren't needed to run something important, look for things like iTunes and Limewire that you can disable. Once you've chosen what you want to disable click the Apply button.

Step 6

Another window should appear asking if you'd like to restart your computer. I recommend restarting straight away but isn't needed.

Step 7
