My Screen Is All Messed Up!!

Hello everybody, plz help me get this screen issue worked out! Alright, well, i really wanted the admin pass a while back so i got the windows installation CD, and installed new windows so i could have admin privelages. Anyway, when i got it up and running, the screen was super messed up. i went to control panel and tried everything in there, but i didnt work. It was not detecting my monitor saying it was "Default monitor" and it didnt let me change it. I tried everything with the Troubleshooter but nothing worked. Then, one random ass time, it started working like perfect again. It still said it was default monitor, but the picture was great. Now, i had to reinstall windows again, cause of a virus, and now the screen is all messed up again. Ive tried messing around in control panel, but i jsut cant get it to work!!! PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!

Here is a pic of what it looks like with the highest resolution i can set:

NOTE: When i have it set on lower resolutions, it looks fine, but i can only see like 1/4th of any given window.

Have you tried changing your color quality to the highest available bit?

Start > Control Panel > Display.

In display, select the 'settings' tab. Change your colour quality using the dropdown menu shown in the image below.

It could also be an incorrect installation or lack of a video driver. :)

If he doesn't have the correct driver installed for his video card he won't even have the option to change his resolution of color quality.

Your video card / power supply may be either overheating or failing, which can cause visual noise called artifacting.

I have the same problem. I ran the "VGA driver" cd that came with my Asus 9600GT 512mb card, and after the computer restarted, I get the same thing. I have no option of changing my resolution or colour quality.
