    Hey.
I've got my own site (Don't worry, I'm not advertising), and the person I'm making it with is away at the moment... With the site being completely inactive (As I haven't given the link to ANYONE) bots are still finding the site and spamming it to hell. Any way to prevent this?
    Thanks,
    Nath

I guess you're not running a nice little website if you're getting so much spam.
Maybe the subject of your website is the reason why there's so much spam?

    Modify your captcha settings.

Most forum softwares today have some sort of settings you can modify for the captcha... Try to make it as hard as possible, but not entirely too hard that not even humans can register... See if it's possible to ask a question that only a human would be able to answer. (Something similar to how Sythe has it)

Check around on Google to see if your software has a plugin that uses akismet... it's pretty good.

It's just a tech forum really. It's not even public yet...

    I'll look into it.. thanks.
