Tired of Forum Addicts and below getting accused of scamming

I was browsing many of the forums, especially in the Black Market.In the Black Market section, there were people who were basically new to the site and wanted to sell their accounts. I noticed that they always get flamed and being accused of a scammer, while Apprentices and Gurus don't. And I really hate that too. It happened to me a long time ago when I was buying a Membership pin for Runescape, and all of the sudden, some random Apprentice flamed me for being a scammer(in spite of my post count and rank) when I didn't even get a chance to talk to him(Blocked). So in my opinion, Mods should infract members harshly if they happen to flame in a "Leecher's" thread, even though he/she haven't even scammed.

 

So you want to infract for discrimination?

 

That could be a possibility, as not all new people are scammers.

 

I agree, Happened to me alot aswell, Unfair when you're a Leecher, Everyone thinks you're a scammer and no one wants to trade with you...Seeing as everyone was a leecher once..Pfft.

 

Post more? And leechers tend to be scammers tbh.

 

How about a minimum of 50 posts to go in the market... simple.. and yet its not used..

 

To the OP - You're able to report users who accuse of scamming without proof. Although I'd like you to consider this little analogy I've created.

One third of African - Americans will have a police record in their lifetime. This leads the general white population to picture the black man as the criminal in movies, stories, etc. While we would love to change these stereotypical thoughts, you can't argue with the prison facts. People will see the statistics, and instantly assume it was the black man who committed the murder or stole the money.

The same can be said for Sythe.org. The fact of the matter is, the majority of scammers are leechers and / or new members. Not all of them, of course, but the majority. Even with these rules in place, we won't be able to change the perception of new users. People will always think it's the leecher who's out to scam. ~R0uge~ is a prime example.

It's not hard to spam up fifty posts, thus that suggestion's been denied hundreds of times. Literally.

 

And that equals an invalid scammer report. One without proof.

What I'm saying is, if Fred said to Bob in a post:

"You scammed me11!11 i liek lost my pixels!"

If Fred doesn't provide adequate proof Bob scammed, Fred could get an infraction if Bob reports him. I'm pretty sure this rule also applies to those who put "John242 scammed me" in their signatures without providing screenshots, etc.

 

I find it this way, if someone does not want to trade with you because your ranks, it is not ment to be. I find that vouches should be the case of who goes first, but not some silly rank telling you how many posts you have.

If someone accuses you (or anyone else for that matter) of scamming and does NOT post evidence, report it using the report feature located at the top right hand corner of each post (the little red triangle). It's a simple solution to a simple problem. The staff does its best to keep things like that from happening.

 

Yeah your correct bro, you have a point, alot of forum addicts and below, nobody goes first to them, and they assume they are scammers, its not fair .. but i guess thats the way people think

How about it's how it is? Get over it. It's been going on for age's, and can't really be stopped. It's just the people's own trust issue's.

 

Almost all the people I have ever dealt with have gone first with me, unless I trust them for me to go first, i.e. +Love+, Rateal, etc.

I haven't been called a scammer yet, and if I have but can't remember it wasn't important or big enough.

Honestly, don't bitch and moan about "I'm not trusted because I don't post a million things *cry*" because you don't need to post a million things to be trusted.

If there was any suggestion or subtle movement towards getting rid of Forum Addict and below ranks, it's not going to happen.

 

Typically, those who have been on the site long enough to accumulate that user title have demonstrated that they are somewhat more trustworthy, as they have not been banned despite having been that active for that long.

 

It's natural for new people to be looked on as scammers, as most scammers are new people.

I've been scammed over eight times just because i went first because i looked like a scammer considering the person i was trading with was usually at a higher posts and vouches scammed me.

It ticks me off because even if there trusted at some point, they think i'm so stupid and i cant report them when at the end. I take a picture of what happens, recovery my runescape account back and i don't even bother to post a report because nothing happens.
