Why do you play video games?

The two main reasons I play video games is because there is a large gap in my life when I have nothing productive to do and unfortunaly noone will do anything. The second reason (this may apply to some people) is because normal life is so dull and normal. Where I live nothing ever happens. Games are an easy escape from the world of monotony that surrounds us. At least for a couple of hours.

 

well i would say that playing runescape or WOW is a waste of time...

i just enjoy PKing and ill hopefully have good memories of PKing with my mates..

i dont really think I'm wasting my time with runescape.. I bot all my levels so all i do is the fun stuff like PKing

however, Games like CS:S, Crysis, Fallout, COD and so many others are AWESOME..

i play them for the same reason people read books 50 years ago. I want to learn new things and find out what kind of story people have to tell

(and i enjoy the challenge)

 

Usually when there's nothing to do or when i'm bored, mostly only play Nhl 09 though, only game I have, only game i'll need, get to play on the ice and off the ice. Most people play games because, what the hell, their fun and addicting.

 

I used to play video games for fun. Now I play them to pass by and I slowly play them less and less so I am pretty much just moving on to real life.

 

I play Xbox, but it's with a bunch of friends from school and stuff. Screw all that no lifeing stuff. It's also an easy way to get in touch with people that have moved away to different areas (without using MySpace - *Shivers*).

I play NHL 09 because I love hockey, I play ice hockey so that is why I play NHL 09, with friends or Career mode.

When I'm sick or it's raining and there is nowhere to go, then I play a game. Not exactly Runescape, that's just when stuff gets REALLY boring. But I play Stick games cause it's fun. Shooting and fighting.

I play games because I'm bored, as in if my friends/girlfriend are busy and I'm home, then I play games.

 

Video games are beast!!!! i love WoW

 

It entertains me. Something to do, when theres nothing active outside to do or something.

They're fun.

its a place were you do what you want to do..

Video games can also give you a mini goal that you want to get... and if you fail getting it then so what? It's just a game.

 

I play video games cause it calms me down and cheers me up when I'm down =D

 

Well I only ever play video games Monday - Thursday.
I drink from Friday - Sunday.

So I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I only like to play if I'm playing for hours on end.

 

You enter another world. Suddenly, you are engulfed within a forest. You venture a little bit further, to be attacked by a bear! You grab your sword, and take a stance. You swipe the sword, hitting the bear right across the face, leaving a gash mark. Blood drips from the sword and the bears face. You win, then skinning the bear in order to make some armour to better equip you for battle.

Whats not to like about that? You are able to do things in an alternate reality that you can't do in real life. You can die, only to be revived with no physical damage done! You can waste hours in this dreamland, doing things that you can't do in the real world.

 

I play video games to past some time while having some fun at the same time.
it also becomes a challenge to see how good you are compared to others.

 

i play games like halo 3 online to take away my anger usually yelling into the mike"DIE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!HAHAHA I KILLED YOU I FUCKING KILLED YOU!!!"
lol thats when im angry.i played tekken 5 DR on psp for awhile when i was angry but i soon found out that just made me angrier. but aside from halo/counterstrike/soulcalibur4 i dont play much else. my girlfriend likes playing racing games tho...

 

it is fun i dont play games much but it is fun to play sometime
