Sadly enough, the forum threads made by Jagex concerning the crash have now been deleted.

Anyway, I'll explain it to you, as you seem simple minded:

There was a bug that caused players to crash [and make them unable to load rs for quite some time afterward] whenever they saw a certain symbol. This symbol was made using the alt + #### codes.

It was a greek symbol, here it is: µ

Whenever *anyone* saw this, whether it be the person sending it or the person receiving or anything along those lines, they got the "Error_Crash" screen, that you can see in the .gif animation.

Jagex closed all dangerous PvP [Dangerous free-for-all clan wars, staking, duel tournaments, PvP, BH] to stop people from exploiting it. However, many people lost items due to early bug abusers.

However, Jagex did decide to not roll back their servers, as too much XP was gained during this time.


P.S:

My signature is 3 pixels over the rule limit. I have asked Shredderbeam about it and he said it's really no big deal.

So please, try failing some more, etc.

Ya I had my friend tell me what the glitch was =X as long as you had your priv and public off you would be fine.

 

I was watching my brother PK and this same thing happened to him. Stinks for all the people that lost stuff.

he's opponet used a bug wich was leaked a few days ago, writing a letter similar to u, but with some ALT codes, made people they're fighting get dcet and killing them.

I heard about this, didnt know if it was real or not. It was using the Greek symbol "mew" (not sure on spelling, but it is pronounced like that", which looks like a u. Sucks for this guy...
