I personally believe this is just common courtesy. When I'm having a conversation with someone and all I'm doing is asking questions and they don't give two shits about me then I throw in a crappy closure statement so I don't have to talk to the ignorant asshole. However, I am delighted when someone knows their manners and asks me questions as well.

And as many people have already stated it is common knowledge to anyone with half a brain. Think of others over yourself. Just think about how you would want them to treat you. A.K.A. the Golden Rule. If you treat them the way you want to be treated (no matter what they do to you) then you will make friends. Ok guide I guess though.

If someone needed to use this guide, they shouldn't be able to read. Anyone with a social life should know this. I'm sorry but you most likely wasted your time writing this guide.

I agree with you on this guide but however I would like to make friends by being myself and having friends who accept me for who I AM. Although I do ask people what they are interested in sometimes, I guess that helps me pick out my long term friends rather than short term.
