Viewing threads... GOOD IDEA.

Not sure if this was brought up before, too lazy to find out .

This screen shot shots over 50% of the people viewing this section are guests, maybe people not logged in, but could be people not registered.

All they would have to do is click a thread and then see the MSN link under their post count to add them, the person may be at fault for getting scammed by them on MSN or they might give a fake name on sythe/lie about one.



So what i suggest is maybe let guests view sythe, but not profiles and threads, Thanks for reading =).

 

I agree to you to a point but i would just remove guest viewings all together this would get more members to sythe & stop people leaching sythe to get infomation.

 

Well, i mean i under stand letting them view toic titiles, etc, but not posts, this way they can see if this is the site for them, then register after.

 

Yes just the topic titles cause then they can see what sort of things sythe is to do with. Support.

 

I think sythe is large enough to make people register before they are allow to view... many of the guest are probably past scammers or just scammers.

Yeah, I agree with the person that said to stop Guests viewing the forums altogether - It will help bring the scam ratio down.

 

There is no benefit really, even if a guest adds you on msn and they want to trade, you ask for a PM which takes care of this problem. Many guests look around on Sythe for answers to problems or just to kill some time.

My say is- Leave this guest issue alone for now.

 

The only way your going to stop scamming is to remove trading all together. Which is likely not to happen.

 

Forcing guests to register could cut into the site's profits; I doubt it's going to happen.

If you use a good middleman / do a background check, you won't get scammed. It's simple.

 

I support. There is no reason for guests not to register. It's a very simple process.

 

I have the feeling they are allowed in order to allow googlebot and other popular bots to index the pages, thus allowing a greater pagerank... but a simple fix would be to disallow guests UNLESS they have the useragent for googlebot and whatnot

as a lot of ppl here said... you can just ask for a pm or use a MM,

BUT we know this... because we have experience on trades, and we know that most of the users are here to scamm

but the newbies doesnt know that, and a lot of them are easy to scamm.

this should be done ASAP

scamming its the main problem on the sythe, and any idea to prevent it should be implemented

 

problem: guests scamming
fix: make black market invisible to guests.

 

i don't want to have to log in to check a thread when i have 3 seconds.
