How to make your MSN messenger name in colour! RECORDS CHAT LOGS TOO!

Hi everyone and welcome to my first guide here on sythe!

Im very informative and im great at producing a piece of descriptive writing!, a bit about myself; Im 16 years old, I live in the united kingdom, I attend Bradford College in Yorkshire/England, may post pics on the next guide if your lucky NOTE: all my links are clickable!!

I wanted this guide to be something simple but very fun for you guys, First of all I want to Thank-You for reading this thread! I will read your Feedback and take it in seriously, please do not flame with that is rubbish or whatever This guide is for those of you who do not know about getting your msn name in colour which can liven up your msn name and make it look awesome! ​

First of all you need to have download MSN Messenger which is also now known as, windows live messenger! Note; you must have version 7.5 or later!

To download Msn Messenger/windows live messenger you need to head to this site;- http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger

Once at the site, you should see a box on the right hand side which says DOWNLOAD;




Once you click on the 'download' link a box will appear;





Click 'Run' and follow the instructions given to Download Your messenger!

Once you have successfully downloaded the messenger, you should open the program and you will come apon a box like this;




Insert your Email Address and your Email Password but before you sign in make sure you click the 'Remember me' box so that you don't have to keep inserting your email address everytime you use messenger!

Once you have signed in for the first time, this will appear:-




You can exit the Box on the right which is the 'TODAY' box which updates you on all the latest news, the weather and more!

Well done! You have successfully Downloaded Windows Live Messenger!
(I Hope >_< )

Now is the Fun part! you notice your name looks abit dull doesn't it?




It's all grey and well, that's no fun at all is it? Lets Liven it up a little!

Head to www.msgpluslive.com

And a box like this will appear, click the 'download' button I have marked.




Next is another 'download' box and click on it:




Another security message will appear, just click on the 'RUN' box shown below;




And follow the on-screen instructions that will appear.

Well done! you have now download Windows Live PLUS! add-on!!

Note- It will sign you out in the process so you will have to restart your messenger! but don't worry, it's only adding plus to your messenger!

When you now sign in you'll be confronted by a box:-




Keep clicking next, reading if you want to find out some useful tips with Msn PLUS!

Now to the part we have all been waiting for! COLOUR! - yes spelling is correct I am from the UK!

To make your name in colour click on your messenger window, follow the picture below, it goes onto File, Tools and Options.




Then another box will appear:-




Now it is just like Sythe's forum, you highlight the writing you want to colour/underline/bold, and click the 'Format Codes' and choose the colour for what you want, and it will go something like this:

Foo cough in bold will turn out to be [b ] Foo cough [/b ]

now is the fancy part, if i wanted my name red it would be:

Foo cough will turn out to look like [c=4] Foo Cough [/c]

Now this is a hint! you see the [c=4] right? change the 'c's on both sides to a 'a' so it would be like [a=4] Foo Cough [/a] and it will change your background colour!

Ok i will make a example, i will have Foo Cough in red with a Black background;

will look like; [a=1][c=4] Foo Cough [/a][/c]

and will turn out like;

To the amazing BONUS.. scammers. If you have ever been scammed you can go to;

'My Documents 'My Chat Logs ' and choose the 'Month' and double click on their email.. there you have it! proof of scammers to upload on Sythe!

u don't even need a guide, u just simply add the symbols and everyone else will see it in colour. :\

but it's detailed which is a bonus. if u open the picture to a larger link, then add it. it saves the trouble of us having to click it to get en enlarged image also.

This is actually a very detailed guide! I personally like it, with all of the colors and lots of easy-to-follow pictures. Very nice work. On the criticism part, though, you could try cleaning up your pictures.

Thank-you, im going to try create another guide everyday for my aim to become a U.E its hard on my pc to crop them, i think i might try find my macromedia fireworks MX disc. Thanks Rawr!

 

You should add more, I sue msg+, it has scripting capabilities, auto responders, name colors, name bold, etc, HTML chat logs, EVERYTHING.


Try goign a little bit further into msg+.

This isn't even the tip of the iceberg.

A very nice guide, but imho your text is a bit too big, and your images dont need to be quite so big either, makes the pages a bit slower to load, and it hurt my eyes lol, but otherwise, a very nice guide!
