Guide on how to create image links on Sythe

This is my 1ST user education guide. This guide will simply tell you how to create picture links on the Sythe forums .




This is particularly aimed at those who are new to Sythe.
It may also be useful for those of you who own GP stores or are offer MMing services and do not want to use plain, basic, boring looking links.
I understand this is a fairly simple guide, however I had trouble with this myself for quite some while .

1 - UPLOADING YOUR IMAGE

Firstly, type www.tinypic.com into your web browser. It should take you to a page like THIS..



Once you are here, you can continue by clicking "Browse..." and choose the picture that you wish to upload. Press "UPLOAD NOW!" once you've chosen your image. Example..



You should then be taken to a screen like this.. you want to highlight and copy the coding which is surrounded with a red box.. save it somewhere.



Now it is time to move onto the coding! .




2 - CODING TO CREATE THE LINK

Firstly, you will want to insert the url you are using. For example..



Now you want to insert the image that you are using (the code that you previously saved). It will now look like this (the part highlighted in red is the part you have just inserted). Remember, this is only an example..



Your finished link will now look like this..



Alright, that's the coding done! .




3 - WHERE TO PLACE YOUR IMAGE LINK

Most users on Sythe will be using this to place the image into their signature.

Click onto your username, and click "Edit Signature"..



Once you've done this, you'll be taken to another screen. Enter the code here and click "Save Signature", as shown here..



Once you've done this, you should have something which looks like this (the picture is just an example)..



We're now done! .

Nice layout and use of pictures, but why make a guide on something so simple? Try thinking of something challenging, but still fun to read about.

Good guide for the simplicity of it's subject though, 7/10.

 

I havn't known how to do this for quite a while, I've only recently found out :love:, so I'm sure there's quite a few more people out there who have the same problem .

Yeah, its quite simple but alot of newbies don't know how to do it, so I guess it helps them. Well layed out guide though and good use of pictures.

This is only my first guide, when I create future guides they will be more detailed and based on a more interesting/meaningful subject .

 

A suggestion; we really need a new guide on how to make a useful post.

Make your guide on that.

 

Wouldn't that basically be a very short guide informing people what is considered as spam and what is considered to be an intelligent comment? .

Fair enough if that's the website you use to upload pictures, but in my opinion tinypic is better by a mile.

For one, you don't need to register to tinypic to upload pictures, as you do on photobucket .
