i got a random ip ban?

i was recently ip banned for no reason. i haven't been able to log on sythe and it was for nothing. I was ip banned and i have no idea why. I know i didn't break any rules because i only post on merchant_in_the_dark's investing thread to give tips and get some as well. So may i get an explanation?
