When I was younger(estimated 7 - 9) I used to have terrifying nightmares almost every night that I would remember all to vividly in the morning. In the dreams the only thing I could ever think was that I wanted to escape. Eventually this became my key to escaping them. After almost a year and a half of horrible dreams that I never told my parents about often, I started to learn how to break out of them.

Whenever I would get the familiar thought pattern of "I want to escape," I would notice it and the familiarity. I eventually managed to force myself to wake up at the presence of these thoughts. Near the end of the two years or so that I had these dreams it became easier and easier to wake up out of them and eventually it wasn't fully waking up but just pulling away from that dream in a sort of way to another or to nothingness. Shortly after, they just stopped.

Thought you might find that interesting as it seems you would be interested in dreams. Not sure if it was really lucid dreaming, maybe a very undeveloped form. Anyways, nice guide

Edit: After typing this it made me remember how forceful of thoughts I had to have to "break out of a dream." Almost a physical force it seemed if my memory serves.

Wow, I think ive had one of these in my life, I have no clue what the dream was about or anything but I remember having a dream like that and then for the next week? maybe more, whenever i would turn a corner or be alone I would see this little boy, probably 7 year old, super pale with dark kind of sunk in eye... scared the shit outta me... I was probably like 10 at the time lol...

I saw something on tv about this about 2 years ago, they had developed a device that you wear (kind of like gogles) and you wear them when you sleep, and it shines a small red light into your eye. The light does not wake you up, however it does let you know that you are dreaming and make you aware...

 

Wow man, thats a pretty cool guide seems kind of creepy that you can actually induce these types of dreams. Great guide, I'd give it a 8/10.

 

cool guide ive had a coupple of thoughs... it was weird because when I woke up I was skatebording at 4 am near a miniut market near my house.

Are you sure that this cannot hurt you? Very interesting guide, may try it out sometime, I can vagely remember having one a couple of years ago 9/10, good work.

EDIT TO MY POST:

-Look into a mirror
if the image you see is distorted or blurred then you are in a lucid dream.

-Take your finger and try and put it through your wrist
If it goes through you are in a lucid dream.

Surely this could frighten you and cause you to do something different? I think this guide is good, but maybe not something to go into detail with due to the age of some people?

 

Wow did not know nothing about what lucid dreams were, anything related to this always interests me. I want one now, its sounds relaxing, but at the same time fun . Awesome guide. 10/10

You know, I've been practicing this for a couple of weeks now. First week did nothing because I barely slept due to school, but now I go to bed from 10-12 pm, once in a while I wake up at 3 am and go back to sleep. So far I've had 2 good dreams this week, and the best part is that they are all out of this world.

 

This is a great guide - My cousins are experts in lucid dreams but I have sleep paralysis and one hallucination changed my life forever. Sleep paralysis is not something you want to have - it's very, very creepy.

 

i tried this and last night i had a dream about me being on American idol. exept i was a contestante, a jugje and a spectator. dont think it was lucide tho

Cool guide, I remember my dreams quite good, even those that are about 8 years ago.

 

Never heard of that before, thanks for explaining its weird how things can be possible from a dream.

nice guide, ive never actually had one or even herd of a lucid dreamseems like too much effort just to get one hopefully it just happens naturally

 

teehee, i got a lucid dream like 3 days ago. I was in top of a HIIIGH building repeating in my mind "this is dream, this is dream" and then i thought, i had to jump. There was sharp rocks underneath i jumped, and teleported back to top, and jumped again, then i thought i need to try to fuck but i woke up before i could. :S
