    I got drilled in the face with a baseball
    About 4 hours ago during baseball practice I was playing catch and we were paired up into groups of 2. There was this new kid and he wasn't good and he through it like 2 rows to the side and drilled me in the face. Is there anyway I can make it stop hurting? My cheek is all swollen and I tried ice but it only helped for a little bit. Any ideas?

    Well I'm not sure how hard it wasn't like a pitch but just like a throw from 2nd to 3rd base and he was overthrowing it (thats why it went curved).

    If you keep the ice on it, It wont swell as much.

    Like I said advil will help

    Place hot compress first, then the ice pack.

    Try to massage it a bit. It works for me.

    .. Being trained in first aid... The best option would be to hold ice onto it for about 15-25 mins... depending on how much you can handle... then you are suppose to keep it off for an hour... or.. the older methos is 10 minutes on and ten minutes off... it will only be bruised so to help with pain the safest option is 2 penadol. NO MORE then 2...IF its still bad the next day... a heat pack can relive it... In 5-7 days if it is still really bad, SEE a DOCTOR.

    Put ice on it, if thats not helping the pain then you should harden the fuck up. Since clearly you don't have much pain tolerance.

    Wow what's your problem? The ice makes it stop hurting but when I take it off it hurts if I touch it. I have a black eye now but it doesn't hurt. Thanks everyone.
