Barack Obama: We're going to have to put the video games away!

Hillary Clinton has taken her stand regarding video games, and it appears that senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama has taken his own personal stand as well.

While the senator didn't exactly launch an all out attack on video games per se, his words seemed to carry a negative implication with regards to video games.

Senator Obama made the remarks in a victory speech to a crowd of supporters in Houston Texas, following his win over Clinton in the Wisconsin primary. This is what Senator Obama specifically said:

I know how hard it will be to alleviate poverty that has built up over centuries, how hard it will be to fix schools, because changing our schools will require not just money, but a change in attitudes.

We're going to have to parent better, and turn off the television set, and put the video games away, and instill a sense of excellence in our children, and that's going to take some time.

He's saying parents should limit time on video games, what's wrong with that?

 

What he said is true. I have been trying to ween myself off video games for the past couple of years. My AP classes at school is really doing it for me.

 

He's just giving advice. The only way this would interesting, is if he was doing something to limit the amount of video games and TV one could view. That would be hilarious.

 

during the last 2 years i have almost completely given up video games....i dont even play runescape anymore

 

I don't play video games or runescape. I think what he is telling is absolutely true. People would save money, time, and get better education. Lets hope everyone puts the video games, away.

Yah, I kinda need to limit my time in computer and videogames tho. I use to play basketball alot outside w/ my friends but now I'm kinda staying indoors.

 

His statement's literally true. I've heard a few babies crying in the background on XBL, while the father keeps playing his game.

Im busy all year round with the sports I do. If i want to have a saturday of total no-lifing, there is nothing wrong with that.

......There is something wrong when someones everyday-routine is to mimic my saturday.

 

I agree with him in a sense i think everyone would to an extent.
