What do you believe in?

This is not to spark up an argument, about which is the right thing to believe in or anything. Just interested in what the Community believes in.

I believe that money can buy 90% happiness

 

That when you die you are just dead nothing happens. So like it was before I was born.

Nope I dont believe in ghosts or spirits or of anything of that sort.

 

If you don’t mind me asking, what recent event happened to you that got you interested man?

I definitely believe in God / a higher power. It’s a hard concept to grasp, but it’s real.

 

It's not like a event that happend which suddenly made me believe all of a sudden. Just something here on Sythe happend i just want to know

 

Oh, gotcha. I certainly believe in God / higher power, like I said. I've been through a couple things in my life that really solidified my beliefs. I also believe in ghosts and/or spirits.. not sure which to call it, but just the presence of something which we cannot see.

Also, @Departure, how do you know you were "nothing" before you were born?

 

I believe in nothing.

Like do you think we have a purpose?

 

I don't think there is any divine purpose about the existence of human beings. It's just human's way to cope with the unknown. There is almost nothing special about humans beside the fact that they have a big brain and other known animals don't.

 

Cause No one remembers anything before being born you just suddenly are.

 

So because you don't remember anything, that means that you didn't exist / you were "nothing" before being born?

Our brains are limited in their knowledge, memory, understanding, capacity, etc. by the laws of our planet (genetic make up, chemistry, and biological laws). Just because your brain, in its finite capacity, can't "remember" doesn't mean it wasn't there.

There's so much out there that we don't understand and don't even know about. Your logic just seems a little naive to me is all.

 

But there was no brain. Cant have a thought without a brain.
