Moderators & Scammers

I'll start with the 'Moderator' suggestion.

I've been looking trough the report a scammer/spammer section, and I noticed that mods almost never do anything about it. No offense.

I tried offering help on MSN, by looking trough them, and linking them to the threads which had valid proof of scammers, yet literally not even one mod replied.

I would gladly help out, just contact me. I'll gladly go trough the whole section & send you links to threads with solid proof and threads that need to be closed etc.

My suggestion is to add more/way more moderators for the report a scammer/spammer section.


About the scammer:

Why not make it so you can't enter/see the black market unless you've been here for longer than 1-2 weeks?

Why not make vouches against the rules, as they are being used as currency a fuck load. Add a reputation system instead.

Why not actually CLOSE threads in the black market that do not include pictures? ( Sticky's say that pictures are a must.. )




My suggestion about this is to add a reputation system. If 1 would serve 2, and 2 would pay 1, they could both rep eachother.

If the black market was only viewable to users that have been here for an amount of time, this would surely reduce the amount of scammers.

Closing threads that don't include pictures in the black market would reduce the amount of spam.

I also have to link a mod to my report threads.

Why cant they just spend an extra 15 minutes a day (everyone has 15 minutes), and take a look through them.

 

The Report a Spammer/Scammer issue has been mentioned lots of times and the overall reply is that Moderators have their own lifes and not just Sythe. I would also gladly help out if it actually came to Moderators needing help with that section.

Another suggestion could be that theres just Moderators that are just based in the Report a Spammer/Scammer thread and that they dont Moderate around the forums so they spend more time and they are more dedicated to reading through the reports and getting them sorted.

 

The Report a Scammer section has been reduced from 43 pages to 8 pages within a couple of days. Stop complaining, everything will be taken care of.

 

There are people that have a life, but spend most of it at their computer. ( like me. ;D )

If they have their own life, and if that's the reason they don't reply, then why the hell are they on MSN? ;s

The report a scammer section is finally being dealt with and hopefully will continue to be dealt with properly

The problems come when the moderators are the scammers

 

If you take away vouches and add in the system you suggested, it will be a waste of time, because STILL people will "vouch" themselves, or get "vouches" from other people, the only way to show legitness, is making vouches from ANYTHING but trades, i see awhole lot of vouches that are "Made me a sig" "trained account" "gave me a name", but most people just ignore those.

The only one I heard about is MegaMatt, or someone like that..
That's the only one called a scammer..

 

People can use Report a Scammer as a guide. They see someone in there dont' trade with them. Its really simple.

 

What if someone just registered, there's no known information about him/her.
You wouldn't be able to know if it's a scammer or a legit trader.
If it was a scammer, you wouldn't be able to find any information about him/her in the specified section..

 

I wouldn't say that, people can try to frame others that are causing problems for them, without that person scamming.

I do not support this suggestion.

 

There are loads of legit people who register on the website only to sell an account or two. Yet, they register and have to wait like a month to sell the account(s)? iDon'tsupport.

 

People could make like multiple accounts, leave them for a week or 2, and use them, and as one gets banned they can use another. What you suggested wouldnt really work.

 

If there's a scammer report against a member, with sufficient proof, that serves as a warning for all traders in the black market.

 

One problem with this. You are highly involved in the black market. If you go through them all, see like 10 report a scammers on yourself, and tell them like 30 links, than they might Mass-Move the rest to the archives, allowing you to go on a tyrade of scamming. Please note, that was all hypothetical, and you seem like a very nice person, but that's not to determine if you will scam or not. You could easily fool them into thinking only the ones you tell them to check are real reports, making you invincible-since the mods "Almost never do anything in that forum"

 

Giddy, Cfrey and Darkgroove have been owning RaS.

 

100% support. It takes literally 1 week+ for a scammer to be banned in which case he can easily scam a dozen people and be on his way.

EDIT: Is a mod reads this, click the "Bad Trade" link in my sig. It's been a week and the asshole STILL hasn't banned!!!
EDIT: Well, after about a week NotANoob has been "temporarily" banned after scamming over 5 people and making over 5 threads on his PIN selling scam. We REALLY need more mods...

And, Report a Spammer and Report a Scammer threads do get taken care of, they are prioritized by Giddy and Cfrey (and Darkgroove), but they can't be there 24/7.

 

I'm glad you're noticing the effort I've put in in report a scammer.

@ OP: What are you talking about, nobody is looking at the reports? Me, Giddy and Cfrey went through 43 pages together....

1. Because that would send new members away from the site.
2. Using vouches as currency are against the rules, report the thread if you see it.
3. We do, report them and the thread will be closed. We can't find them all.
