Vouches, Trustworthyness and other Bullshit

Just ranting a bit about the usualy 12 year old mentality on Sythe.

Going to keep it short and focused:

-What is up with the Vouch bullshit?

I remember 3-4 years ago, when REPUTATION meant something. Not how many people you can convince to "Vouch" for you for being a nice guy.
How does a person with 5 posts vouching for anyone means anything?

-What is up with the worth "trustworthy" being thrown around here on Sythe?

Since when does being called trustworthy being 20 random people actually make you trustworthy?

And then last but not least:

-Leechers still being able to post. Make a 50-100 post count AND a 1 month "being on Sythe" requirement for Black Market.

Meh, I did some legit trades here (Bought my pin, sold some cash), I'm happy

 

You can vouch another user for any reason. It's up to you to interpret what good/bad vouches are and if you can trust them.

 

yeh but what he is saying is that it will make scammers less likely when they have to get say 100 posts and be here one month there not going to stay around for 1 month to scam say what 3m its a good idea i think . vouches mean nothing and i belive that there should be a rep system but there wont .

If you believe another user got their vouches for a dumb reason, or a very poor reason, then don't trade with that person.

I believe all my vouches reflect on how I am, so therefore I hope people pay attention to them.

 

I agree, 1 month should filter out all the 12 year olds who come here for a quick buck.

 

Its because people don't realize that vouches have nothing to do with trust. And then they seem to think they can bitch and moan to us because they got scammed but oh "he had 30 vouches".

 

I never see the Admins actually do anything about this.. So yeah..

Here's what I think that should be done;

-People that haven't been here for atleast 2 weeks, shouldn't be able to see the black market.
-To register, a confirmation email must be sent to the specified MSN.
-Vouches should be against the rules, as they are often being used as currency.
-A reputation system must be added.

 

Why should requiring them to wait 2 weeks have to do with anything? I sold a skiller and my main to 2 leechers. No problems. Then again, they went first C&C and whatever. But yeah, not every "leecher" is a scammer. Plus, if someones vouches are for BS things like "free training 10-12 str" or "did free tutorial" and you think they are trusted, you're an idiot.

 

Its the qualaty of the vouches that count, not the quantity. As for this site they are the only thing that shows trust in a user. Post count means nothing.
Special ranks help determine trust in a user. But still vouches are almost the only thing that can proove the trust in that user.

We don't need to get rid of vouches, we need to make everyone understand that vouches don't automatically mean someone is trusted. Use your judgement. You have a brain for a reason, put it to work.

 

Than by your logic, nobody should trust you. And vouch quanity matters just as much. If you have 1 vouch for a 30m trade, it's not as much as 30 pin trades, which aren't even as much as 30m.

And I think you're just mad-to the maker of the thread- that people flaunt their vouches, and say you have to go first.

If you want people to go first, get some vouches.

And Kamakazy. If quanity doesn't matter... -Checks your sig- 240 is it? Why flaunt the amount?

 

What makes you think criminals are impatient? They can create a few accounts and let them sit for a couple weeks without a problem.

 

I like and Dislike Vouches the REPUTATION System would be a Good Idea but also a bad.

1 I dont trade with people with stupid vouches e.g Account Training Seen they are Petty Vouches anyone can train an account to lvl 30 and get a million vouches and be classed as " LEGIT " thats jsut stupid.

I would like to see that come in but then again i dont cause it will be abused jsut as bad as Vouches are.. so either way its a lose Never a win .
